Typing while holding baby...

2:35 am water broke
4:00 am starting to feel painful cxs
6:00 am bad enough we call our midwife
7:00 ish (things get a little fuzzy from here...) mw arrives, 7 cm dilated laboring in the tub
About an hour later i have a cervical lip. i get out and mw tries to hold it back while i push. no luck, back in the water until about 9:30. STILL a cervical lip. I get in bed and we decide that i'm sick of transition, so she holds the cervix back again as i push. I push for the next 4 hours and my asynclitic 8 lb 12 1/2 oz monster baby is FINALLY born. MW said she was considering transport because he was not coming down under my pubic bone very fast, and she wasn't sure if he'd make it. Oh and his hand was by his face, and his shoulder got stuck...but i didn't tear!! Happy it's over with!! He's cute. Will post pics eventually.

wow, congrats! it sounds like it was a lot of quick, hard work. enjoy your little guy and some special family time!

4 hours of pushing - you must have been exhausted! But you didn't tear....wow. Enjoy your little guy and post pics when you get a chance.
