But, it didn't take a few things in to account...I was 7lbs at birth, and 20 days early...but I'm a twin and the quiz doesn't take that into consideration. All my singleton siblings were born at 42-43 weeks and weighed between 9lbs8oz and 12lbs3oz.

Ekblad--double check that you put in the arrival of previous babies correctly. I accidentally entered 7-10 days early--misreading early for late and got the "1-2- weeks early" message. When I corrected it to "my previous was past due" it sounds curiously like my last labor other than predicting half as long in labor.

I didn't know anything about my husband's birth and he's not home yet (actually I just heard his car but I'm too lazy to do the quiz again!) but I got...

This quiz was cute. It said this one will be just about the same as DD, except with a 12 hr labor instead of 30!!

I remember taking one when I was pg with DD and it asked all kinds of random questions like what was the last animal you saw, etc. I'll have to try and dig it up!

Even though I, myself, was like a 46 week baby.. and my DH also went over 40 weeks. Both our kids have popped out exactly at 38 w 6 d. I have to say though, i'm hoping for a slightly shorter labor than 8 hours.. 4-5 sounds good.

Well, considering that both my kids were born exactly 5 days prior to their due date, and within 1/10th of an ounce of each other, that part's no surprise.

16 hour labor? Sounds quite manageable (#1 was 55, #2 19) - though I couldn't have imagined saying that prior to having kids!

I got the same one only they said 8.5 pds. bleh...all they did was an average of the last two!!

The only thing I can say for the first quiz is that at least it doesn't predict c-sections for those of us who have had one already. I also got the "I know you were hoping weren't going to say this..." answer, but with a 7.5 pound birth weight prediction (which is what both my husband and I weighed at birth, as opposed to our almost 9 pound son).

Hmmm... I suspect they are right on the late babe-I'd like a slightly shorter labor though, and I really doubt I will have a six pound post-dates babe!

This is what I got on the latest one posted by njbeach. Of course this is all fun, but this one can't be correct.

I've delivered 3 babies, 2 weeks early and under 7.3 pounds, and 1 baby 2 weeks late and he was only 7.12 pounds. And, we know this one is coming at least 2.5 weeks early. So I just don't think it can be accurate. Oh, and all of em had blonde hair, but none of them had or has dark eyes. Oh and 17 inches is really really short for a 9# baby, right? I mean all 4 of mine were 18-19 inches. Still fun tho.

Sunny? In Texas in early July? Yeah, I'm sure it will be. (Unless it was like last year, where it rained for three months straight, but that's pretty unusual.) Early evening would certainly be unusual - every one of my children was born in the morning, except for one early afternoon... well, two, I guess. DS2 was 5 minutes after noon.

A three-hour labor?? Are you KIDDING??? My shortest was 7 hours, induced at 42 weeks. The next was 16 hours. That was okay. Then there was a 27 hours, kind of grueling since it was induced. The first ever was 31 hours, not too bad for a first-timer. Then my grand finale of 105 hours, let's NOT repeat that, thank you! But 3 hours? I am not sure I'd make it to the birth center in time!!

A lot of hair, definitely. All of my kids have full heads of hair. 20-1/2 inches, sounds about right, too. The green eyes may pose a bit of problem... DH is latino. I am red-haired with pale skin. *I* have green eyes, but the other two kids I've had with him have those deep, dark brown eyes. Green eyes would be an anomaly. Usually green eyed kids have to have TWO green eyed parents, right?

And then there's the issue with the 8lbs, 4 oz. Um... I don't think so. I am 4'10", I weigh usually around 92 pounds pre-pg, and my kids have all been solidly between 6lbs 8oz, and 7lbs 4oz. (I thought that last one was going to tear me in half.) An eight-pounder with a three hour labor?? Someone just shoot me now.

I am somewhat alone, though. If not followed by the plug for the message boards, I would be pretty touched by her random observation!

They just average out everything from your previous birth histories. Here's what I got:

I disagree with all of it. Ds1 was 8.5lbs, and ds2 was over 9 and ds3 was closer to 9.5 (so I put 8.5, 9, and 9.5.) So they predict 9 for this baby, b/c that's the average. Ds1 has a different dad, so I predict this baby will be around 9.5, around what ds2 and ds3 were b/c they have the same genes from BOTH parents. As for my labor, 4 hours ds1, less than 2 for ds2, 8 for ds3. Ds3 wasn't positioned well when labor started, so it took a while. When he finally moved, my labor went FAST. My midwife told me she had expected me to have less than an hour or 2 long labor w/ him, and that's what I should expect w/ the 4th, IF he/she is in a good position when labor starts. Position affects labor a lot. They say baby will be born in the afternoon, b/c dh, ds3, and I were all born in the afternoon. WHat does that have to do w/ it? 2 out of my 3 were born in the morning, so that makes it more likely that I will have another morning baby, IMO. What does my MIL's birth experience have to do with mine? My body affects how I labor, not the baby's genes. Yes, my dh's babies are BIGGER b/c of genes, but that has nothing to do with how my body labors. A better thing to factor in for duration and time of labor is how does my sister labor? She also has very fast births and most of her kids were born in the early morning/middle of the night.

Remember this thread ladies? I had the baby July 5th; and I just read my labor prediction results. It's fairly accurate!!

...he weighed 8lbs...

Pretty accurate, too. Zoe's weight was 6 pounds 12 ounces, and the labor was 19 hours long, so 6 longer than the prediction. She did come early.

The only accurate things from these predictions was the first one saying that I would be "overdue" and the second one saying that I would have a girl. I so wish I could have had a six hour labour, as opposed to a two week labour with a six hour pushing stage!
