OT-My friend died yesterday

An old work friend who I have known for a long time died of lung cancer yesterday. She was only 38 years old, and did not smoke. She had been battling this for almost a year.

It's so not fair. I really looked up to her-she was a mentor for me as she always a few years ahead of me career wise. I used to joke and say that I wanted to be her when I grew up.

I just found out. I'm going to miss her. I hope she is in a better place and no longer in pain.

I know this is so off topic. I just need to write this and get it off my chest and y'all are great supports to me!

Surviving a year from diagnosis is beating the odds for lung cancer - it's such a savage illness. I hope her year was spent smiling, laughing, and fighting the good fight.
