Much to our surprise! 
Our little girl arrived Jan 8 at 2:02 am after a very intense but quick 2 hour labor. She is small like we all thought but she's totally healthy. Just petite!

Birth Story:
After several days of prodromal labor I was 4cm dialated and 50% effaced at my last prenatal check-up. Due to increasing concerns about her size I allowed the midwife to sweep my membranes and she advised us to to try some natural ways of getting things moving
and dh was happy to oblige. Right away I started having quite a bit of bloody show. I was having contractions, but they were mild and would stop after a while like they had been all week. I went to bed around nine not very hopeful that anything was going to happen. Around midnight I woke up feeling very crampy and having regular contractions, but they were still fairly mild and short-around 30 seconds long. I tried to ignore them and go back to sleep but after 20 minutes or so I couldn't deal with them laying down and had to get up and walk around. After a little while Dh woke up and asked if he should call the birthing center, but I still wasn't sure I was really in labor! Since our second child's birth was so fast and we had a bit of drive he decided to call anyway and they told us to come on in. It wasn't long after leaving that the contractions started getting really intense and I finally realized this was the real thing! Dh drove like a madman to the birthing center and we made it just as I was starting to feel some pressure and having back-to-back contractions. Our nurse, Ashley, checked me in and asked if I would like to get in the tub, I'd been hoping for a water birth so I said yes. The midwife on call, Jenny came in just then and checked me- I was 8cm. While she was checking me I had another contraction and Jenny said I had just gone to 9 1/2 cm! So much for getting in the tub. With the next contraction I felt the urge to push. After a couple more pushes she crowned and then came out all at once. We hadn't found out the gender in advance so we took a peek and were surprised to see that we had a girl! She was so tiny and perfect with a head full of brown hair and we are just over the moon in love with our little girl
