I don't think there's research for that. You could make a poll for that too. Not scientific, but it's probably the best out there

I voted 31-32. Mine were born at 32 w 4 days. We tried to stop them from coming, but they were determined. Weighted in at 3lb 10oz and 3lb 15oz.

My twin and I were born at 39w 4 days. I weighed 4lb 10oz and she weighed 6lb 4oz.

probably more scientific than a lot of "formal" studies out there

I was induced at 35 weeks 5 days because baby 'a' wasn't growing anymore (or so the dr.s said)
Baby B was 5 lbs
Baby A was 4 lbs
Fraternal

I did have pre-term labor - I think at 30 wks, but I started bedrest at 271/2 wks (to get out of packing for a move ). I've had pre-term labor for all of my pregnancies and carried all but the first and last to term and past. The first I got induced due to serious itching (liver?), but retrospectively I wouldn't have induced had I known what I know now...

And to put my babies' weights into perspective...
my 37wk baby was 6lb 11oz
my 40wk baby was 7lb 8oz
my 42 wk baby was 8lb 5oz

38 weeks and 1 day, and that was with a complete placenta previa that didn't start bleeding until that day. Its a miracle I made it that far and my cervix didn't dilate until then, especially considering the twins were ~15 lbs together!

Originally I had a section booked for 2 days before my EDD but I don't come close in the end I had my boys at 35w 5 d. Section was booked b/c of multiple abdominal surgeries and excessive adhesions. I had an awful pregnancy with them, in and out of hospital quite a bit. I was on hospital bed rest for the last 2 weeks of my pg trying to keep preeclampsia at bay. We delivered b/c the PE was getting out of hand, I suddenly started to have some severe symptoms and twin B not only stopped growing but shrank in size and was showing signs of distress.

Twin A was 6 lbs 6 oz and my little Peanut Twin B was only 5 lbs 4 oz

Hey, Freethinker, did you make an official announcement here? It's not fair to hide a twin birth annoucement in the middle of another thread I don't get on here everyday anymore, but I remember when you first came on here, a bit overwhelmed with the whole idea of twins, so I was anxious to hear how your birth went. Of course, you may not have time to write much for a few more weeks, so I'll hang tight to see how you survive January (I remember that was a big concern of yours with it being tax time for your and your husband's business).

wow!!

I'm thinking I can go ahead and put myself back on the schedule at work for May, since it looks like hanging out with you mommas is a good influence!!

I'm 31 1/2 weeks now, and thinking are looking great.

Very interesting!

Does anyone know of a good statistic for spontaneous twin births? So far at 27 wks not a hint of trouble -- I was trying to gauge what the real timetable is if all continues to go well. I'm thinking the 37 wk stat I see must included scheduled c/s's and inductions. Maybe 38-39ish?

37 weeks exactly.
Lily was 7lbs5oz; Doug was 6lbs 9oz.

I'm 32 weeks tomorrow and still chugging along. Only 4 more weeks til I can breathe again. I can't wait to add my stats!

about 33 weeks. (34 according to my doctors, who were calculating based on a 28 day cycle, which I DON'T have.) C-section due to being monoamniotic. But 4 lb, 3 oz and 4 lb., 4 oz - not bad for being almost 2 month early identical girls! We were in the NICU for 25 days.

I love seeing all the long twin pregnancies on this thread - y'all rock!

Congrats on the birth of your babes -- did I miss a birth story/announcement?? Can you paste a link if you wrote in your DDC?

Congrats little babes! How are you doing?
