So what is everyone sewing/working on now???

I have made baby leg warmers (about a dozen pair) and made about 6 pillowcase dresses for my 4mth old to wear next summer. Now I am all out of ideas and feel like sewing more. So lets all join in a tell what we are making to give others ideas for winter, spring and next summer.

I will just have to post a pic of one of the dresses I made to look like a rag dress in patchwork when I get the ribbon in I ordered. I am so impressed with how it turned out!

I finished the Amy Butler frenchy bag last night. It was really an easy pattern and came out very cute. I'm going to finish a dress for dd and perhaps work on a few UFO's. I also need to do a bit on dd's birthday quilt.

I'm hoping to start cutting out some summer overalls for my son tonight. We're getting a king bed soon, so I'm going to make them with our old queen sheets and do some detailing with scraps.
I'm waiting for some wool interlock to come in the mail, then I'm going to make my son and baby some long johns for next winter. And I'm also waiting for wool to make my husband a vest.

right now I'm working on finishing up a table runner that I started to make for Christmas decor , I've got it mostly quilted and went ahead and sewed the binding on last night, since all that's left is hand work will work on it while waiting at the bus stop for my son to get home from school.

Next project is one from my UFO drawer, I hope to not start something new until it's cleared out

Ring slings, minkee/flannel blankets, sock monkeys. We have 4 babies due in the next 3 months so I have lots of baby crafting to finish including stuff for my new one.

I'm waiting on payday, so I can get my sewing machine fixed!

I am working on perfecting the tote bag. I have made four so far, but I really want to perfect getting pockets in there and getting the heavy interfacing to work for me. My next project after this will be making a slouchy bag (hobo bag from craftster) or a simple messenger bag.

I just made my first pair of babylegs. Love em! This weekend I'm making a pillow that looks like a large flip flop with matching flannel pj pants for my 8 yr old neice. It's a late Xmas present. I'm really excited about it.

Yesterday I made a cape for a super girl who will be turning 6.I also made some rice socks for my mom's drafty windows. And some felt foods for my daughter (and some for a friend).I've got such a long list that I can't decide what to do next.I've got so many projects"on the brain"that I feel like I'm spinning. The other problem I tend to have is projects I want to try and no one to give them too.

Up next,I have to figure out a present for a great friend of ours who will be turning nine.Any ideas?

Rere- I made a pillow that looks like a sandal last night and it is soo cute! I made it for an 8 yr old, but it would def. be appropriate for a 9 yr old too. Check out the link to the pattern: http://moresplashthancash.com/mtcs_products1.html
Scroll down the page until you get to the sewing pattern for teens part. They have a bunch of pillows. I did the flip flop and if you click on the picture it will enlarge it.
I plan on making some macthing pj pants for it today. It really came out cute. When I figure out our new camera I'll post pics. I will def. be making more of these as needed for any preteen girls.

Thanks! It's funny because I was thinking about making one of these.

I really like the matching pjs part.I've never made pjs but I think I could tackle it.

Hee!Hee!Cute!

Thanks for sharing!

Now I can't decide between the pillow/pj idea and this.

Great! Thanks for another idea of what to sew...as if I don't have enough!!
Seriously though, that is a great idea.

I will tell you the pants are way easy. Here's the tut:

and:
http://www.rookiemoms.com/make-some-easy-kids-pants/

I'm positive you could do them in no time. Also the pillow could match the pj pants even more depending on your fabric. I didn't use the same fabric for both b/c the pattern says that flannel is not a good choice for the pillow (although I can't figure out why). So anyways, I def. wanted flannel pants and I knew fleece would be forgiving fabric to work with for the pillow.
Now I need to find some more teenyboppers to make them for!

RERE- Will you just figure out a pattern for the art folio? I'm working on one in my head as we speak.

Yes,I'll just figure it out(My brain spins with all the projects I'm planning in my head).I made this bag as a Christmas gift so I imagine I'll make the art folio similarly.

Is there anything you do from a pattern? I'm not a huge pattern person, but since I'm so new to sewing, occasionally they help me put it all together. Sometimes I have a really hard time figuring it all out. But I'm learning. Maybe we should help each other make that art folio. Do it step by step together and figure it out. Although you are well on your way with that cute penguin bag. What does that hold?
My first question for the art folio is what kind of fabric do you think would work best? I'm thinking something sturdy or a little thicker. The magic cabin one is machine washable, which is nice. Also, do you think it should have some..........(oh no i'm forgetting what it's called.. the stuff that you sew or iron on to make it stiffer. Stuff you use in collars..what the heck is it called, UGH) You know what I'm talking about I'm sure. Do you think that would be good to use? Something needs to make it a little stiffer I imagine.

Also, what was the penguin bag used for? Her little stuffed penguins? Or just anything?

Interfacing...aka my new best friend.I think some parts should be thicker. So I plan to use interfacing on cotton for the outside panels and the pocket for the paper.

The penguin bag(I didn't use interfacing on that one)is for holding her stuffed penguins. She's been caring them around in a cardboard six pack wine caring case that you get from the Whole Foods.

Actually I have never used a pattern. They scare me.I'm going to give it a try though. So I can start to learn the language of sewing.Even though I've had a sewing machine for a long time,I'm actually new to it.I'm starting to learn about it instead of just making stuff up.I taught myself to quilt through trial and error. Now I'm going to start reading.I'm backwards like that.

Yesterday I started a pair of wool slippers while trying to decide if I should make the art portfolio or the pillow/pj present.I took a look at this to help me with the pattern.I don't have a printer so I couldn't use her template.I got one slipper together but I need to resize it a little.I'm so happy to finally have a use for this great wool sweater I've been saving.
