I have a very spirited 5 year old and a toddler. Things go really well for a period of time and then all of a sudden (for example while I'm pouring cereal and milk into bowls) things get crazy. I try to have things prepared and keep things very structured as that works best for him. But I should be able to go 5 mins. to the bathroom or prepare breakfast. But when things start to escalate what do you do?
For example if the baby gets into something and I need to clean him or the floor etc. My 5 year old is getting more and more excited which in turn excites my toddler.
Sometimes you really can't leave the mess but things continue to escalate. And then I feel my blood rising and getting more and more frustrated as I'm putting out one fire after the other and still not able to address things.
But if I leave a mess and try to calm the 5 year old my toddler will get into it. This is so rambly but I'm SO tired this morning
