The To Do List Thread

Thread Starter
Anyone else want to motivate each other and post their list with me. We can update as we get things done and add as we think of more by cut and pasting from our old post. This being child number four I am so busy I have done almost nothing. Not to mention I keep telling myself I have time and then I realize its going so fast I should get busy.

My to do list:

1. Go through boxes of baby clothes in garage
2. Wash what using for new baby
3. Make diapers
4. Buy covers and snappis to round out stash
5. Make mama pads for postpartum
6. Get house decluttered (ha ha this is so not happening)
7. Dig out bassinet and bedding for it- wash and clean all
8. Get some more nursing tanks
9. Make cloth wipes
10. Find ring sling and pouch and wash
11. Buy birth kit stuff
12. Find a better way to store/organize the diapers

Okay thats all I can think of for now.

This is good timing, I just wrote up a list tonight and stressed myself out lol. This is the stuff that is just birth-specific, not including the other general house and crafty projects (like decluttering the house, selling some stuff, etc) I'd like to get done before March!

- set up/wash out pool and do trial blow-up/fill
- make list of birth food to have on hand, at 37 weeks do that shopping
- read EC book, buy some large absorbent pads
- assemble birth announcements (minus birth details!)
- finish and frame DD2's birth record
- drink RRL tea daily, at 35 weeks start perineal massage, and at 36 weeks start taking EPO. Ongoing
- re-read Ina May's book, commit 15 minutes each night for birth meditation/visualization Ongoing
- take sibling birth class with DD1, read Welcome w/Love regularly and find more birth videos for her to see Ongoing

- wrap presents from DD2 to DD1 DONE
- make freezer meals DONE
- hang art in birthing/play roomDONE
- buy new carseat for DD1DONE
- schedule date to do belly cast with mom- DONE
- buy pump for birth pool- DONE
-buy birth supplies DONE
- paint play/baby stuff room (I've got one coat done, another coat and trim left to go)- DONE
- move dresser, changing table and a couple of toy bins in there. DONE except changing table
- sew curtains for play/baby stuff room- DONE
- sew wipes and blanket for DD2- DONE
- make list of freezer meals and shopping lists- DONE
- wash newborn diapers, stock changing table- DONE
- wash 0-3 month clothes, stock dresser- DONE
- talk with mom about birth, needs for DD1, etc.DONE
- knit some burp cloths, and finish DD2's hat- DONE
- design birth announcement and buy supplies- DONE
- buy nursing bras- DONE

Oye, looking at it gives me a headache. DD1 was born at 38 weeks too, so I really want to get everything done by the end of Feb, just in case.

Excellent idea!

-Done: get enough 0-3 month clothes for the 1st month
-Done: wash nb clothes & blankets
-Done: find little tub for bathing
-make homemade baby changing/massage oil
-Done: get inflatable changing pad, cut up some towels for it, get dipes
-Done: wipes, burp cloths, extra-soft thin terry towels for after baths
-keep researching CDing (I want to try but it seems so complicated so far with such a big initial investment)
-Done: get nursing tops, nursing bras, pads
-Done: get at least one carrier
-Done: set up a baby clothes/changing/supply area
-Done: get a nightlight (so we don't have to turn on bright lights for nightime nursing & changing)
-Done: "make" co-sleeper sidecar (adjust and attach crib to my side of bed)
-Done: prepare birth announcement cards
-finish reading birth books
-start doing perineum massage, reviewing labor relaxation techniques
-stock up freezer meals for first few weeks
-almost done: decide on names!
-Done: car seat
-finish baby blanket I started
-Done: get list of stuff midwife wants for birth kit
-Done: plan bag for birth clinic
-clean house!

This is great, I'm getting organized!

I like your plan. Very flylady.

My 4 today are:
1. Get car seat cover.
2. Sort neutral/boy clothes from kid #1
3. yoga
4. get baby changing pad.
Excellent idea. I love lists LOL.

Clean carseat
Finish quilt
Finish nursing pads
finish change pad
Finish i spy bags and sock monkeys
pack up rest of stuff in hospital bag

I am sure I have more to do, but mostly sewing things at this point. Once we are healthy I can get cracking.
1. Buy a carseat. Still haven't decided if I want the bucket type that is done at 1 year or a convertible. Of course, a year with a new baby and the convertible may be too icky past a year...
2. wash all his clothes
3. buy diapers
4. pack hospital bag
5. Register at hospital
6. Have had the fridge fixed 4x in 6 mos, so before I make any freezer meals I have to trust that the dang thing is fixed! Then we need to SERIOUSLY stock up.
7. Get a pack n play or something for babe to sleep in until he can join us in bed full time
8. Talk to boss about bringing baby to work/work from home
9. find back up childcare (I don't wanna! Can't I win the lottery or something?)
10. Go thru an entire week without a crisis with DD's Kindergarten teacher-just a week-it's all I ask!
11. make chicken soup for labor
12. Uh, decide if we are gonna run back to Washington and quit my new job and give up on this career move cause it's just not panning out and I don't wanna have a baby so far from home! (deep breath...)and find some way to stay home instead. (I like my WA midwife better, I like the hospital better, DH makes a better wage there). Prett unlikely-okay as likely as another ice age hitting this week. When I bring it up DH looks at me like I'm crazy. I have 8 weeks before he's due though-there's still time! Okay, I am crazy.
13. Find lots of time to do special things with DD cause she won't be an only child anymore in just 2 months!!!
14. Plan and execute DD's 6th bday party
15. Go to Disneyworld for a weekend
16. Heal my marriage
17. Get over all the other BS going on and get really excited and focused on this baby!!
