Hi everyone,
Thanks for the replies. The fundal pressure he applied was during the pushing stage. He said afterwards that he felt like she needed some help, and that he knew how adamant I was about not using forceps or vacuum extraction. He never mentioned shoulder dystocia or anything else specific.
My pain began about two years ago, which in retrospect is around when DD#1 was born, which is why I thought maybe there was a connection. My pain is so strange. First of all, it's positional dependent. And not when I'm standing up, which might offer some possibilities, but rather when I am lying down.
It began pretty infrequently, I'd say about every three months or so. It feels like I would imagine being brutally raped for hours would feel like. It's a very deep and VERY intense aching in the walls of my vagina, pretty high up, possibly cervix, or maybe slightly higher. It is very, very odd in the sense that it is positional dependent -- for me lying down. Which is puzzling everyone. It started out about every three months, this horrific pain would awaken me in the wee hours, about 4-5am and would always stop when I would finally arise from the bed. Like, within a minute or two. Then it began happening about once a month, then once a week, then after the birth of DD#2 this past October (a very very easy birth -- I pushed five times I think), every night (early morning). Now I don't even have to be lying down all night first. Now, it is happening even as soon as me lying down for the night, first thing. One time I noticed I was fine lying on my side, but when I rolled to the other side, it started.
Again, when I get out of bed, it is alleviated almost immediately.
I've had thorough pelvic exams done by two Ob-gyn's now, both were normal. I also have had an MRI done, which came back normal. Nobody can figure this out, and I am completely and utterly miserable. I just went back the other day and was referred to a urologist to r/o interstitial cystitis, but the gyn says it's unlikely because I don't really have the symptoms. If that's negative, I'm going back to the gyn per her request.
The only other thing I can think that was off with DD#1 birth was that they forgot to catheterize me during my epidural. I have a strong hunch my bladder became distended as a result, because after her birth, I had full incontinence for three months. I mean, I didn't even have the sensation of urinating, I just went all over myself. It was awful. I had to wear diapers along with my new baby. Now I just wear bladder protection pads on a daily basis, but do leak badly when I cough, sneeze, have to go badly, or get upset.
I don't know. I am so frustrated and this pain has gotten me to the point where I can't sleep. My infant is such a good sleeper, but I am up anyways. And I start back to work FT tomorrow and I will be functioning on little sleep. Which for me, is not functioning at all.
Any input appreciated.
