help - just cleaned out the bathroom :)

Thread Starter
so i am so sick of all the chemicals/products in our bathroom...so i just threw them all out. i need some natural options now. i have been reading tons of threads, but i have some questions:

shampoo/conditioner: i want to try un-poo but i would also like a natural shampoo and conditioner to use on occasion. i have fine, thin, shoulder length hair.

face: i like honey as a cleanser and ACV as a toner, but what about a moisturizer? i definatly need one but would like a natural choice.

body lotion: again, with this dry and cold air i need something. i like the aveno but i know its not natural...any suggestions?

soap: we use dr bronnes baby soap (unscented) on occasion on the baby and every other day for dh and i on our skin. we also use it as hand soap. any other good options?

baking soda in the shower: so i want to use it for hair and body and face...but how do i keep it dry in the shower?

thanks all!!

can't wait to hear the suggestions.

The kiddo is calling so I have to post quickly. I put my BS in an empty glass spice container. I just shake it into my hand when I need it. :

I no-poo, but my partner likes Nature's Gate shampoo.

Kiss My Face moisturizer is all-natural. I like the alpha-hydroxy & aloe kind.

Do you have Trader Joe's in your area? I like their lotion (A Midsummer Night's Cream) and liquid hand soap (Next to Godliness lavender) and they're supposed to be all-natural. Their dish and laundry soaps are good too.

In the past I have made a shampoo out of green tea, mint tea (both over steeped - 30 min) with sage and lavender, mix in some MSM (optional). That "tea" is then mixed half and half with Dr. Bonners. For conditioner I add a drop or two of rosemary oil to a fine tooth comb and comb through my hair. Works great but no-poo is easier! LOL

I have never needed a moisturizer while using the honey so I can't help you there. I always needed one before but now that I use honey daily I don't need it anymore.

A friend just got me some Burt's Bees Honey Shea Body Butter. It is awesome.

We use Dr. B's but we dilute it half and half with water and put in a squirt bottle.

I mix it with water and put in a squirt bottle. Enough water so it comes out without clogging the tip.
