babystepping the primal diet.

hi everyone, i've just finished reading the first part of 'we want to live'. it is such a good read - i couldn't put it down. anyway i was quite blown away by it, but my head is all confused. i really want to follow it but i know i'm really going to have to babystep it because i have such a fear of the raw meat and not only fear i'm totally squeamish about even having any blood on cooked meat!! i do have a little voice in my head that wonders if all the stories are really true because it seems so amazing. i know uccomama said on another thread that you have met him and he is totally for real.

i do have loads of questions and i'm wondering are there any support groups for other followers of the diet?
is it ok for me to go raw while i'm still breastfeeding? i'm just wondering if i'm going to detox heavily and all the toxins go into my milk? i'm not going to do this diet with my daughter because she is very particular about her food. also what if i did (worst case scenario get food poisoning) would that affect her if she's still bf?

one last thing! - the farm that i get our raw milk and cream from makes cheese but they put salt in it, they told me that salt is needed to make the cheese. i know that aajonus only suggests to eat no salt raw cheese. has anyone found no salt cheese does it exsist and what type of cheese is it?

i'm really interested to try this out, i so want to sort out all the health issues i have and the diet does make sense to me, i just have to take it really slowly. tomorrow i'm trying the raw fish!!:

I don't have any answers for you, as I'm exactly where you're at! I read the first half of "We Want to Live" and am slowly getting through the second half.

Honestly, part of me thinks he's a whackjob. On the other hand, I'm slowly starting to think this way of eating makes sense. I still have the fear of food poisoning to get over, though, like you.

Anyway, I wanted to let you know that you're not alone! And hopefully we'll both get some advice.

No advice hear, either. I am at the same place as the you, too. I have been drinking smoothies with raw eggs for a few weeks, but no raw dairy yet. I am going to see my chiropractor on Wednesday, and he said he has some clients that sell raw dairy (in my state it is illegal for the farmers to deliver or advertise raw milk!) I thought he was a quack, too. But I have tried raw meat twice now, and 1)I did not get sick, and 2) A very small amount made me very full. So, I think I will try it out while being open-minded about it. I can't wait to get the second book.
