cream sours so quickly

Oftentimes, by the time I get around to using my cream (this week, picked up on Monday, went to use on Friday), it is soured. I do not like the taste of homemade soured cream and neither does anyone in my family. Is there anything I can do to it to mellow out the taste? To make it taste more storebought?

Sugar cuts the sour and tastes fine in coffee, but I do not like it as butter.
I just figured out how much I spend on my cream, and I am thinking I need to freeze half of it...

Thank you. I wondered about the sugar.

I do actually freeze my cream when I can remember. I have to do it immediately upon its arrival or I forget. I forgot this week. It is way too expensive to let go to waste.
