What was your wedding song? - Page 5

Partner for life..by um Oh shoot I can't remember.
It's a nice song but not something most people would choose , I think. The bummer is that it is not something that is ever played anywhere so we never hear, "our song"

*off to google the artist*

Graham Parker

"You Had Me From Hello" by Kenny Chesney. My heart still skips a beat when I hear that song.

Wedding hasn't happened yet, but on 9/20/08 it will be "First Day of My Life" by Bright Eyes.

And we *just* decided that the processional (which was giving me trouble) will be "Loquasto International Film Festival" from the soundtrack to The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.:

It's Only A Paper Moon-Nat King Cole

I was still an actively performing circus performer when we got married, so it seemed to fit!

We were going to do "Storybook Love" from Princess Bride, but my sister was planning her wedding around the same time and REALLY wanted it. I gave it up.

Well, now I'm seriously impressed by you.

SO many of you have great songs!

My poor DH would have died from embarrassment if he had to dance in public (and I wanted him to actually enjoy the wedding!), so we didn't do the trad first dance. But our song was The Luckiest by Ben Folds. The lyrics are in the "About this video" - they bring tears to my eyes every time.

"And in a white sea of eyes
I see one pair that I recognize"

We've danced to it in our living rooms countless times.

Actually we're going to have that song played at our party when dh gets home. we're getting the legal thing done in Georgia before he ships to Iraq, but that's just for the military.

When we originally exchanged our vows almost 14 years ago, a friend threw us a small party, where dh sang his own customized version of Rope The Moon by John Michael Montgomery to me.

oh, and Bless The Broken Road is his ringtone on my phone.

Our wedding song was "Looking in the Eyes of Love" by Alison Kraus....still makes me teary eyed. Our introduction song as a married couple was, "Bolero" by Steel Prophet. During the bouquet toss, we played "Girls, Girls, Girls" by Motley Crue and during the garter toss we played, "Motorbreath" by Metallica...Did I mention we got married in Vegas?

We didn't dance, but our recessional was "They Love Each Other" by the Grateful Dead (I think it was an 80's bootleg).

ETA: mamasgroovin! You too! Good choice.

We didn't play music at our wedding because our actual ceremony was in a quiet & serene japanese garden & our reception was in my parents backyard & was a chatty BBQ type affair, real super casual.

My Dh's song to me:

Punk rock girl by the Dead Milkmen

My song to him:

Stupid over you by Screeching Weasel
