Daily Check-In for 1/12

Thread Starter
Well, I figured since I'm up, and it's after midnight, I would start today's thread. I am officially overdue now 40w1d...I feel good, I'm just anxious and impatient is all. Went for a LONG walk with my MIL and took all 4 dogs with us. And we were dumb enough to leave the cell phones at home...what were we thinking?!?!?!?

Have a busy weekend...lots of family coming to visit and some staying til baby is born. Going to be a full house, so hopefully I can keep my mind off baby...not likely though since I'm sure that's ALL anyone will be able to talk about!

its not yet tomorrow here, but i'm mad tired! my sister, dp and i took the two kiddos (plus the belly baby) to the pool for 2 hours, then for a late dinner..yam fries and ceasar salad. yum! im so tired! ive been having lots of BH again since swimming though, so maybe it helped my body get into baby mode. but who knows we also did the dog walking thing today. if only i had as much energy as my puppies middle tow i would be good.

good nite and sleep well@@!

Ooh, a pool! I wish I had gotten around to getting in one during this pregnancy. As it is, I'm 38 weeks (today) and have no bathing suit. But I can imagine the anti-gravity... ahhhhh....

Still pregnant. 41+4 or something. lol I'm starting to lose track. DH and I DTD yesterday which got some pretty regular/strong contractions going, but of course they fizzled out towards nighttime. :

3:30 here and i can not sleep. I caught the cold my kids had the last 2 weeks, and my head is so stuffed up .

But on a good note, I hired a local lady to come help me claen and she came for the first time yesterday. It is so awesome, I sould have done this long ago! She just did all my floors and cleaned my bathrooms. They were really bad, because I have not been able to do a good clenaing job in a while. My SIL and I went to town in the afternoon and I bought some new nursing bras and she got a cute outfit for the baby. I now have everything I need for this baby. I am still thinking it will be a week or so until she comes, but I am ready now. - EXCEPT we still have not decided on a name!

My inner thighs ache so much, I have never had this before, has anyone else? Like if you have been horseback ridding for hours, when you are not used to it. I get to the point at night where I can't even lift my legs very well, they feel so heavy and achy.

Have a great day, I am going to try to go back to bed.

Still here 39 weeks and 1 day I am having low backache that won't go away. I had a bunch of BH last night but they went away and now are very sporadic.

I am going to be bringing my son to basketball this morning and they have a walking track and I am going to try to walk for an hour and hope that will get things going. Can't hurt I guess.

Taking my EPO and RRL tea plus I am drinking Emergen-C 1,000mg once a day.

I just hope this backache means something and doesn't last for another week. My son and my older sister say that tomorrow is the day.

We will see....I have been very very nesty and finished cleaning the house I scrubbed the kitchen floor at 10:00 pm last night and Dh had to make me sit down and stop cleaning LOL I kept telling him if my midwife is coming over I need the house to be clean LOL

Goodluck ladies and peaceful birthing vibes to everyone!!!

Affirmation:

I am prepared and ready to birth my baby.I am strong and I trust my body to handle birth beautifully.

Here at 40w6d I think...I'm trying to not pay attention to that so much.

Some affirmations this morning:

My baby will be born healthy and at the perfect time

Babies are born when they are ready, not when doctors, midwives or anyone decides

I trust my body to know how to birth this child

I am now willing to experience all my feelings

I now feel inner peace and serenity

Jess- I'm so jealous about your cleaning lady I want someone to come and wash my floors and scrub my bathtub. I'm just not up to it right now.

I will be 39 weeks tomorrow and still feeling ok. Very full of baby, though I swear, there is no extra room in there!
DH and I went on a date last night and we bought a rocker glider, so I'm pretty excited about that. I didn't think we would be able to get one in time for the birth, but we ended up having to buy the floor model since the warehouse was all out (it was a discontinued model from shermag). It's so comfortable, though, and reclines.. I can't wait to hold my new little one in it!
DH is going to set it up this morning. I also used a gift card that I had to buy a new boppy. The one I used with dd is pretty smooshed and I decided to let her keep it, since she still loves using it (trying to minimize the sibling resentment as much as possible ).
It was so much fun to get a few things for the baby. We haven't done anything up until now, so it's finally starting to sink in that she will be here soon and I'm trying to get everything organized for her arrival.
Labor vibes to all the mamas past their due dates already. I remember those long days- my dd was 10 days past her EDD!

39w+2

I had some strong regular contractions last night that kept me up and I was thinking labor was starting, but they stopped eventually. This morning, I feel like I am leaking fluid, but after three babies back to back, I don't have the strongest Kegel muscles in the world, so I'm not sure if I'm really leaking or not. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but I'm going to make sure the house is clean anyhow. We shall see what today holds!

Have any of you seen comedy routines by Maria Bamford?

She has one joke where she says that mostly she thinks she just wants to be floating in a big vat of rising bread dough.

Please, if only I could sleep in a huge vat of bread dough...my hips and belly would be in paradise.

38wks today and feeling every minute of it.

I feel like this in the evenings and its really horrible! It hurts to walk. Luckily its only at night and I can still function during the day. I dont remember it being this bad with the others.

same here. felt a little "ick" yesterday afternoon, and part of me was hopeful it was a sign indicating things were changing somehow. but i feel fine this AM.

going to walk a lot today - just need to decide where to. i also may take DC#1 to lunch. i've been snappy lately and i think it will put me in a better mood.

checked internally last night in the shower. things felt the same to me. baby's head still not engaged.

Still waiting here as well..

Jess.. inner thigh pain.. yep.. have that for the past 2 wks.. never had it with the other 3..: I have to sit down to put anything like socks, underwear or pants on and I have to be very creative on how I do it since it hurts to lift my legs more than I need to.. Doesn't help I have to walk up 10 stairs each time I have to pee... so tempted to get some depends and call it a day.. LOL!!

a mom in my group told me yesterday she feels Jan 22 is the magic #.. I told her how funny.. that is the full moon and if I average out the weeks days I had each of the others then it also turns out to be 39w4d... so we'll see

Dh and the kids want to go sledding today so I will be tagging along taking pictures and such.. mom told me to walk up the hill a few times.. Um no..
walking NEVER works for me.. When I was pregnant with Aidan we walked up and down Snoqualmie Falls and nada... :

i think maybe i'm destined to have babies born at the End of the month or something.. my son was born dec.26th (due december 30th), my daughter nov 28th (due november 13th) so this one could be jan 24 to make it all nice and even or January 30th but i would settle for the 22nd.. full moon baby.. *sigh* i think due dates should be banned.

off to knit another sweater

I am back to my house already. So much for laying around being waited on!! The kids (my 2 and my sister's 2) are so wound up that they are running around like maniacs. Add my sisters and parents on top of that and it is really hectic. I decided to come back and hide in my cave. I just can't handle all the commotion. Hopefully that means that I will be birthing soon!!
Katie

PS I am so glad that everything is okay Gratefulbambina!!!!
