Cora Bay finally arrived on Tuesday, January 8, at 3:53 a.m. She weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces. She has a full head of black hair and is gorgeous!

My birth was a wild ride.
: I'll write up the whole story someday, but for now, let me just say that after over 30 hours of intense natural labor, including three hours of super-intense transition, I had a c-section. As crazy as it seems, I am thrilled with the experience. I was surrounded by wonderfully supportive and skilled people, and I know we did our very best to get her out vaginally. I am at peace with this birth.
Cora was 10 days past her EDD and she definitely looked like a post-dates baby -- peely skin, loooong fingernails, partially calcified placenta, the works.
I am in love with my new girl!
She's a great nurser and seems very relaxed and calm.
:
Thanks to the mamas in this DDC who hung in there with us post-dates birthers.
The support was invaluable.
