Cloverfield

I caught a glimpse of the trailer for this film the other week... It looks interesting and is directed I believe by the same man who does Lost.

Anyone else seen the ads for this new film?

I get the impression that it is about a HUGE monster attacking New York.

Oh I hope it's good, the past few years have been such a let down as far as sci-fi and suspense movies. What I've read is that it's great, not so much a monster I think but some sort of alien machine (maybe war of the worldsish).

I hope to see it soon, but knowing us we will probably not catch it until it's our on dvd.

My kids are going to see it when it hits our theatre here in a week or so. Ds is pretty excited.

J.J Abrams has been very secretive about the film, and has kept the plot to himself.

Sometimes I dislike that, because it builds the film up and you're desparate to go and see it to find out what it's all about... and then the film doesn't live up to expectations.

I'm hoping that this won't be the same.

Dh and I watched it on opening night, and we think it will change the way film is shot and viewed.

It was outstanding.

I read a review about it that sums it up better than I can, I will try to find it.

Has anyone else seen it??

The boys and I saw it opening night. Got in line for the 12:00 am showing. I was disappointed, but the boys liked it. We followed all the characters through their MySpace accounts plus the sites for Tagurato Company and TIDOWAVE. So I thought there would be more to the movie...
The pix for 1-18-08 site is awesome though. It really makes you wonder about the sequel to the movie. I've heard that it will be filmed from someone else's perspective or a different story altogether.

I didn't care for it, but I did like how it was done-like Blair Witch like all gritty and hand cammed. Otherwise, it just wasn't my thing.
