Has anyone not told their parents/family?

We've not told dh's parents yet and I've not told mine either. Mine live out of state but the kids and I are going to visit in a few weeks so I figured I'd tell her then.

We've not seen his parents since Christmas and just haven't told them yet.

Any good ideas on how to bring it up? When I was preg with ds I made what looked like an ultrasound and put the words "Coming in August" on the picture and framed it.

You could photoshop a family portrait-type picture and add in a new addition -- either at belly level on you ("watch this space"?) or elsewhere in the picture with some other phrase... sorry if that's not clear. I think I need to go eat something.

We haven't told anyone. I think that after the appt. on Friday I'm going to have my son tell my mom he's going to be a big brother.

That'll give her quite a shock!

We have told DH's family, but we haven't told mine yet. I will probably wait until after my next OB appointment. I'm actually afraid to tell them since I don't think that they will be supportive.

I haven't told my parents. DH's parents are dead.

Well, there's always the classic t-shirt set:
"I'm the Oldest Child"
"I'm the Middle Child"
with them holding the sides of a tiny t-shirt "I'm the Youngest Child"

Haven't told my side of the family yet... There's a bit of a family crisis going on now, so now is just not the best time. They live out of state, so it's easier to keep things under wraps.

It is hard to wait though when I really want to share our news!

My husband told his parents and siblings on New Years.

As far as creative ideas...hmm.
For baby #2 I bought a double picture frame and placed a picture of my son on one side and a "coming soon" announcement (with stamped baby feet) on the other. The grandparents loved it.

Not sure what to do for this one.

We haven't told yet, but will after my appointment next week.

DH thought of a good idea... his Mom's birthday is in August, so we'll wrap up a "I love Grandma" onsie in birthday wrapping paper and give it to her.

My parents are out of state. I'll probably scan the sonogram and email it with "our newest addition" in the subject line.

Told my mom at 7wks since she lives on the same lot as us and sees us everyday, their was no keeping it from her with all the M/S I had. But we just told my ILs(specifically BEFORE everyone else) and basically everyone else today at 11wks since their was a party at our house and it will be weeks before I see the extended family again. Otherwise I would have waited longer and told the extended family around the end of the first tri.

My mom and DH's family are all that know. DH's birthday is the 4th of July, so i think I will let me very unsupportive family see me then. I will be about 36 weeks, and it is just better that they dont know. They all have opinions, that i prefer they keep to themselves. LOL

I haven't even told DH yet.

I haven't told family or even my kids.

I figure I will be uber traditional and tell everyone at about four months along then I know the baby will probably stick, I'll have had my screening ultrasound. (and maybe even the sex if I chose to find out)

Also 9 months is a long time for grandparents and other family members to wait, they can loose excitment.

I'm at 8 weeks and still have not told family. I had to un-tell before and that is no fun. I will wait a little while longer.

Seriously? And he's not noticed you didn't have a period or that you have symptoms?

That's what I was thinking. My belly is definitely there and DH would have to be blind to miss it. That and the crappy M/S.

I've cut several inches off my hair and changed color completely and he did not notice.

He's not very observant which is a blessing and a curse! If he has noticed he hasn't said anything.

We haven't told anyone yet. We're going to wait until we hear a heartbeat after my 10 wk appt.

We haven't told anyone yet, and won't for quite awhile. I might tell my LLL friends next months, but I"m beginning to like the idea of waiting to tell even them now. I know family won't be told until probably Mayish.

Not yet. Appointment is on Tuesday and after that I think we'll send a massive group email. Is that lame? Maybe it is. I just don't want some people to hear before others and the whole calling everyone issue. It's our third and its been a little while since we had the second, people are just going to be reeeally surprised and I'm a tad worried about fielding everyone's reactions.
