I've been totally inspired by this no-poo stuff.
So I looked around, read around, googled, yahood etc etc. After much much much time spent reading about it, I decided I wanted to do the conditioner method - use a tiny bit of silicone free conditioner to wash the scalp.
I took the plunge, understanding that it could take 2 weeks for things to settle down. Now, I normally go 2 days between shampoos, sometimes 3 (but only if I don't have to go anywhere on day three, lol). So on day 3, I do the conditioner thing, and I swear my hair was greasier when I came out. So much so that I repeated the next day. and the next and the next. It never got worse than what I'd call "4 day greasy" but it was still gross. After a week, it went to "3 day greasy" but that's all the improvement I saw. It felt and looked disgusting.
After two weeks (today) I was at a breaking point - still absolutely disgusting, greasy, it made me feel really gross. So as I turned the shower on I debated - give up and go back to poo, or give it one more shot with the bs??? I was so tempted to go back to what I know works, but......
I dissolved 1, maybe 1.5 tsp baking soda in hot water, placed it in an empty, well rinsed shampoo bottle (peri bottle would work better, I don't have any though) and applied it to my dry roots. I worked it in like I would if I was touching up grown out roots. I rinsed well, did the acv rinse, and was amazed - it felt clean.......
had to leave the house with wet hair, but when i got home, I finally got to check the mirror. CLEAN AND SHINY! NO GREASE OR GUNK!!! I may have found it. The bottom half is a little dry and frizzy, but it was colored ages ago...
YAY BAKING SODA!!!!!
