Daily Check-In for 1/13 - Page 2

oh man, that's gonna hurt mamazon. Hopefully you heal up quick...grab the arnica.

I almost beat you to the thread this morning, To-Fu...I was staring at the clock at 3am thinking "I'm so not going to sleep. I could get online..." but decided to be a good girl and stay in bed.

Quick question...when more than 10 people tell you "You look great" does that mean a.) you really look great or b.) you look like death and they're trying to make you feel better?

I almost fell yesterday on our walk and totally pulled my groin!! Why do we need to be so clumsy in pregnancy?!

I think you must look great! People would just usually hold their tongues if you really did look awful. At least I do!!

i think you must look great. if not, they'll usually tell you how "tired" you look...how you look like you're "done", etc. not that i've ever been told that (ha-ha)
i think people are mostly truthful.. ive had some "you look great" comments (none of the "OH my god when is that baby falling" out like i did with my dd...) but a few days my sweet mother has said "oh you have that haggard look.." thanks mom i think mostly i look okay. i dont have any swelling or anything. i just have a belly

It's my due date, and I THOUGHT I was in labour earlier--went to the hospital thinking I'd broken my waters (I'm GBS positive, so my doc wants me there asap as she expects labour to progress quickly.) I had a gush of fluid with my mucous plug--and wow, is a mucous plug ever big and goopy!--but apparently it wasn't amniotic fluid. So I am at home, not contracting, not anything. But I am almost 3cm dilated, and cervix is effacing and moving forward. So...I'm dreaming of labour soon, like in the next 48 hours.

I am so uncomfortable; even though I want to walk all day to bring on labour, baby's head is bashing against my cervix with every step and I am just too pooped to bother sometimes. Surely it can't be long now?

Chugging along....I had nothing planned this weekend, so it feels like one big boring black hole! DH still isn't feeling 100% (not really sure what's wrong---uncharacteristic headaches, and just feeling worn down), and DS doesn't do well staying home all day.

I went out for one errand, and when I came back they had the bike trailer hitched up to meet some friends at a park, so that gave me a little more free time. We have the first nice days in WEEKS, and everyone is outside. DS fell asleep in the buggy on the way home from the park, so he's parked in the front yard with the monitor on (fenced in yard). He hasn't napped in well over a month, and MAN did he need it today! Hopefully he'll wake up a happier person, then we can play in the yard. Wa-hoo!

Nothing happening for me on the labor front today, although my back is still hurting pretty badly. Par for the course, though.

othersomethings, no one has really told me I look great or that I look awful (except my mother, of course---why do they do that?!?!), but I definitely feel like a freak show out and about. People either staring at my belly or averting their eyes uncomfortably. It's not THAT big......is it? Especially in the locker room at the gym the other night. Sheesh! I guess I should have known better than to go right when the young, gorgeous single folks were getting out of work.

You aren't in the seattle area are you? We had a beautiful day today, but I spent it inside cleaning and getting unpacking done. I have been so nesty lately... My mom is convinced the baby is coming next week. Haha, we'll see.

We seem to have quite a few pacific NW mamas in the january club!! It was SO beautiful today. I managed a walk with the husband, 2 toddlers and a great dane. Needless to say it was a slow walk. But it was so pretty outside. We let the girls pick the adventure and they chose which way we went at every corner. They love that!

Hi everyone! We've been a little quiet for the last few days, baby wise, that is. Maybe it is the calm before the storm so to speak. I had a crappy day today. Not really about being pregnant or anything. DH was a J-E-R-K today, which is really uncharacterlike (is that a word?) of him. Of course, I'm emotional, so I went off, and sent him to my BIL house for the day (and evening). He was watching football so I'm sure he didn't mind too much. My kids were darling today. My DS especially, seems to know when I really need a Pick-Me-Up? He was walking over to my parents house (they live next door) and he was like, "Bye, Mama! I'll be right at Mema and Popoul's house. I love you so much!" And then he waved and went running. It was totally cute and brought me to tears. Of course he is the same one who can really make me pull my hair out sometimes. Anyway, sounds like most of us are bored out of our gourds! I am, but yet, I still feel like I have tons to do.

For those of you in pre-labor land, : and hopefully things will get started soon.

For those of you who are in pain, sick, or just feeling I send you lots of.

For the rest of you...who seem like your just bored (like me) well, if I knew what to tell you...I wouldn't be so darn BORED!!!

Get some rest everyone.

See you tomorrow!

Affirmation: I will let go of negative feelings, as they do nothing but fester and grow.

i wonder if anyone is here to read my check-in. i haven't been around since friday. i am SO SICK now. i can barely breathe and swallowing is terribly, terribly painful for me. it seems that i have the same bug that my kids had last week, but i hope that they didn't have it this bad, cause i can't remember when i've last felt so awful. i have been seriously incapacitated. i am SO VERY PETRIFIED that this baby is going to come before i get better. ladies, i'm really worried. i've worked out every single day and taken such excellent care of my body this pregnancy, and now that i need it most, it's failing me. i can't imagine going into labor like this.

plus, we're supposed to be getting 14+inches of snow tonight, and our snowplow guy is terribly unreliable. so the baby isn't allowed to come now, no matter how child-led my philosophy is!

anyway, if anyone out there has extra baby-stay-put vibes they can send my way until i get some of my strength back, i would gladly trade for labor vibes. i got nervous for a while today, but i'm hoping that the fact that i went late with my last 2 will give me at least another week to bake the boy and catch my breath.

so, yeah, i'm worried and scared and in great pain. i just want to be healthy again. this sucks like nothing i know.

Hugs, HCM. I know what it's like to be that sick....sending you lots of "baby stay put" vibes...

HardCoreMom,
to hell with get well soon...get well NOW! I'm sure your kids didn't feel nearly as bad as you do...your body is working overtime to keep baby healthy. I'm so sorry you feel so bad. I can stop complaining about not sleeping if you can soldier through all this!!!

Hardcoremom,
I had that cold a few weeks ago. It totally sucked but I really do feel like the body holds off on labor so that you can be stronger. Take care of yourself and trust that your body knows what you can handle. Im usually pretty healthy, but it takes alot to grow a baby, your body isnt failing you, its just over utilized at the moment and has reallocated its resources to where they are needed the most. That's pretty efficient

All that being said, Im so sorry you are feeling so crappy. Cayenne, lemon and honey tea really helped me, I gargled a bit with each sip. I do know that pregnant women make a ridiculous amount of snotty mucus when they are sick. I've never in my life blown that much stuff outta my nose

Get better soon!

41 weeks on the dot here. I'm another Pac NW mom and we took advantage of the beautiful day by walking down to the beach and having a fire. It was nice to relax with the crackling fire and lapping water. I let my belly get some sun and hope it helps to coax the baby out. I'm feeling great, but I'm moving from a couple of zen days back into impatience. Just like everyone else I'm ready to meet my baby and just wish we could get on with the show already. I've refused to take down my Christmas tree because I really want to have the lights to focus on during labor and its finally starting to drop needles. Not sure how much longer it has before it starts to die. I'm so glad it has lasted this long and is still nice and soft. My neighbors must think we're batty. I think it will be pretty for another week.. after that, I think it hasnt got much time left. :

Hope everyone had a good weekend and lotsa birthing vibes to all the over due preggos. The rest of you, .. I get jealous when someone goes before 40 weeks.

checking in

Hello Mamas,

Not much going on here. Just washing cloth diapers, and getting things ready for baby.

I felt like I lost a little mucus and fluid this morning...felt like I started my period (no blood, though). It stopped by noon time, so maybe nothing.

38 wk 6 days

HardCoreMom - I am sending you get well vibes, and Baby-stay-put, too!

Warmest Wishes,

Amanda&BabyMac
