Those of you with #2 or more and different gender baby...

Geez that was a long title, but anyway....

I am curious how those of you who have had your 2nd or 3rd (or more) and have a different gender this time, how is it going?

I was told it was a girl, but didn't believe it. Not til she was here, and now sometimes I still don't believe it. I even call her "him" or "he" sometimes on accident! I was jut thinking we would have 2 boys for some reason so one boy one girl is so throwing me off!

Oh and girl diapers, much hard to change with all those places to wipe. Especially with all the thigh rolls my little one has... poop gets in there, yuck!

Yep, same here. I call Viano "him" and "he" all the time. The first time I changed her diaper, I had to ask my mom what to do.

Seriously. We went to the pedi last week and I asked her to show me how I was *supposed* to do it because I didn't think I was doing it right. And I wasn't! All I knew was front to back. LOL

I have boy girl boy girl, and I am right there with y'all, so don't feel bad!

I remember feeling really embarrassed when ds2 was born, because I was constantly saying "she" and also constantly calling him by dd1's name!

Now, I'm doing the same thing all over again--calling dd2 "him" and calling her "Andrew"

They are surely gonna take my mommy card away and burn it, then pour acid on the ashes!!

In my defense, I mostly do it when I'm changing middle-of-the-night diapers....or during middle-of-the-night feeds....or middle-of-the-night cryfests (hers or mine!) so as you can see, there is a pattern!

As for cleaning girly bits, there's nothing harder! Ack! dh is especially intimidated, and sometimes he'll watch me trying to get all the poo curds off and he'll look terrified and say "Don't dig too deep! You're gonna hurt her!"

not my first girl, but my DD is almost 7, and i had 2 boys 20 months apart after her, so i feel like i'm starting over again with my new DD. the first few times i changed her i was almost surprised to see girl parts

ha! I soo know what you mean first time a changed DD I was like hey wheres her penis? I was so used to only seeing penis in there, I actually prefer changing a girl over a boy cuz I have those parts and know how gentle to be- the penis intimidates me cuzI dont have one of those so I never know if Im hurting those parts- especially this time since I didnt circ DS and I did Ds #1

I think changing a boy is harder than a girl! But I am so glad I have a son - I can't believe I was worried that I wouldn't like him as much

I have gone son, daughter, son and going back to changing boy diapers makes me feel like I am all thumbs! I just am glad that I know better than to try to retract to "clean" like I did for my first son (at least he isn't damaged or worse yet, circ'd!)

the fun really starts when you, in fits of tiredness/frustration/mommy brain morph all of your children's names together trying to get one child's attention. Zachary and Lillian have morphed into Zilly or Lilzach...so now with Alexander..will it be ZaLilAlex?? My morphed name growing up was ScotKareAndrew-KARIN-You!-Child!-C'Mere-Now!

It's kind of strange having a little boy now. I am worried when doing diaper changes that I might hurt him or something just like a pp stated. I have called him a she a couple times. I'm still in awe that I actually have a boy at all too.

Its also weird because now I have both and DH said he's done, which part of me feels ok with that and like our family might be complete. The other part of me hasn't decided either way. I'm only 25, who knows if I'll want one more in a few years or not.

You ladies are funny about the girl diapers!!! I have a girl and now a boy and DH and I both think changing DS is harder than dd!!! all those outside parts to manuever around. Hmmm.

I don't feel as bonded to ds as I did immediately to dd but I know it will come slowly. I'm wearing him constantly and it helps.

I haven't mixed up their names yet. But I left my brain somewhere in August of 2005 when I got pg with my first child so I'm sure the name mixing will be part of my life soon.
