Daily Check-In for 1/14 - Page 2

yeah, i'm really anti-med, as much as possible. i even avoid tylenol unless i really need it. but they just called in a script for an antibiotic, and i'm gonna take it religiously. i can't justify not doing it right now. i have never, ever felt like this. i'm one of those people who never seems to get/stay sick, but my body really needs help right now.

so DH would be going to the pharmacy right now, except that we're snowed in... well, at least i'm not in labor! i will get relief soon...

later, everyone,

mom on the beach- I hope this is your day!
fishie kisses- bloody show? What a great sign, this is it!

Well, better get homeschooling my dd... we're off to a late start...

HCM I am glad you are doing what you need to do to take care of yourself. There's a time and a place for meds (antibx) -- clearly this is it. I hope you feel better soon.

Hugs to all the Labour Vibed Mamas out there!

Good morning (for the second time. I woke up at 2 with REALLY bad heart burn - Like woke me out of a sound sleep. Then I could not get back to sleep until almost 5, and I was blocked from MDC. I was really trying to figure out what I had done, but it is fixed now, so must have been on there side.

Then I got up shortly after 6 to get the kids ready for school.

We had a really nice weekend. Friday my cleaning lady came for the first time - OMG, so so so worth the $$. I left before she did and it was so incredible to come home to a sparkling clean kitchen and bathrooms and all my floors vacuumed/mopped. While we were in town, I had a dr appt and my SIL and I went shopping and I got a couple of new outfits for the baby and new nursing bras and a nursing tank, whoo hoo, I am totally ready for the baby now. We had dinner at MIL's - so no cooking and the kids got to have a fun afternoon too (spent with grandma).

I was really nice here yesterday (in the 40s and sunny - we have had several inches of snow and temps in the teens the last month) so we went for a 1.5 mile walk, I was dying by the end, but felt so much better last night. I was walking 2+ miles a day until 32 weeks, when it got really cold, and my body feels so much better with excersize.

I am due saturday and have until next thursday the 24th to go into labor. I will have a repeat c-sec if I have not, so please say a prayer, wish, what ever that I do, I have NEVER gone into labor on my own. I started EPO and DH is more than willing to do his part , so I hope it does something!

Have a good day!

I wasn't going to post because I haven't much to say . . . but as I was typing I just realized . . . think baby is dropping!!!!! I've been praying so hard for something- some sign that my body is working toward labor (even though I know it is), how exciting!

Best wishes to those of you who are SOOOO close to meeting baby!

Fishie Kisses- hope this is your day!! keep us posted!

Mama Bear- that sounds like a wonderful weekend. I can't wait for my DH to take his paternity leave and we can have some nice family time together. Lately his days off have been consumed with midwife appointments, fixing up things around the house, etc. Not too relaxing!

Impromptu- I've been having to fight the baby-shopping urge. I know that we have the essentials but it's so hard to resist the soft little pink things. I think it helps that I'm working on decluttering our house at the same time, so I have to stop myself and think about the space that we have.

HCM- Hope you're feeling better soon!

Can I just say how jealous I am about the cleaning lady??? Wow.. that's awesome!
I need to go shopping for some new nursing bras, too. I need to figure out what size I actually am.. and then go to a specialty shop or something, because I can never find my cup size at Target or WM, etc.
Labor vibes to you! I hope you can avoid that c/s.

I'm hoping baby doesn't come for another week or so...enough time for me to finish this awful project at work! (Someone else could do it for me, but as it's only my second major project, I'd really like to finish it myself for the record. I started this job in September, already 4.5 months pregnant... Now, I had finished this project until problems cropped up three days before we were supposed to close and the deal totally changed on me...so not my fault, and no one would think it was, but still....)

Happily (?) I have gotten the awful cold DS had all last week, and you folks have been telling me that women don't go into labor sick! I didn't realize how painful his cough must have been until I got it myself, and now I understand why he would wake up screaming every time he coughed! Poor baby...and I didn't give him any Tylenol or anything because he didn't have much fever and I try to stay away from it, but if I'd realized how miserable he was I probably would have. When I checked MSN this morning, the feature article was about how you shouldn't go to work when sick ... but I have my own office, so it's not like I'm sharing germs over a cubicle wall, and I don't know how much longer I have to work. Besides, every time I've been late b/c of an MD (or DDS) appt or worked from home in the last TWO MONTHS at least one person has emailed me asking if I've had a baby. So I'd have to send out my "I'm sick" email to EVERYONE in the department...and they'd still probably think I was in labor.

I hope everyone is feeling well. I'm 39w1d today and not feeling like it will be my time anytime soon. That's ok, though.. I'm still feeling pretty great and it gives me more time to get everything ready.
My bedroom still has boxes, etc. from the move and it wouldn't be a relaxing place to give birth right now (plus I would be totally embarassed to have the midwives see it!)
But I got a lot done yesterday and finally washed all of the baby's clothes. I'm going to enjoy hanging up those sweet little outfits today in her closet
Off to help DH with the dishes.
Love to all the JanDDC mamas!

HCM- I hope you get relief soon! Dont forget to take your probiotics to ward off yeast infections from the antibx. I had a horrible bladder infection a few months back and I finally took the script for antibix and it was such sweet relief but the yeast infection was hell too. It all cleared up though in short order. I dont think I took enough probiotics in the beginning.

Baby has dropped alot and now instead of rib and back and ab pain it has all been replaced by pelvic pain! At least the pain will move down and out eventually! I am having some crampy feelings so who knows. we are going to the store after my chiro apptment and I am buying a new vaccume cleaner since mine died and then all will be ready for baby to come. Clean house, food in the fridge, snacks in the cupboard, baby just needs to wait until later today! I tell baby to wait a little longer everyday though!!!

Happy labor vibes to all thinking that today is the day and peace to all those still waiting!

Sounds like we have some good early labor action going on with several of you!

:::eye s::

I am 40 weeks tomorrow and have had a few good signs but I still think this coming weekend might be my time.

I could also use some new hips... I can't wait until I can roll over in bed and not feel like a giant blue whale.

I am also excited about getting out of maternity clothes and passing them along to my expecting friends!

Peace mommas and I will check in tomorrow!

It looks like we might have another babe by tonight - keep it up, contracting mamas!

Well, I really thought last night was going to be it. I was up at 1:15 with major cramping - I lay awake for over an hour, as it was bad enough that I couldn't get back to sleep (it didn't help that dh was snoring away like a chainsaw next to me). At 2:30, I decided that I would go sleep on the couch - I mean, I might as well get some sleep if it really were it, right? Well, here I am at 8:15, and all signs of everything have gone. *sigh* At least I fell back asleep.

41+4 today. I'm officially the most pregnant I've ever been.

Special hugs going out there to all sick and sore mamas. Take good care of yourselves!

same ol'

Lost more of my mucus plug...about 5 minutes ago...still no bloody show. I think DTD has helped a bit though. I have a faint backache most of the time, and it is sometimes with BH..

Just trying to get last minute things done around the house and doing some more mental preparation for labor. (as much as one can do I suppose)

I told my mom about my changes and she is convinced I am having the baby within a week. I am 38+6...

I just hope baby waits until the 22nd (first official day of maternity leave) and that we have a real bed and not the horrible death bed aka air mattress

thank you, everyone. we are finally plowed and shoveled out, and it's time to go pick up that script. i cannot WAIT to start feeling even the slightest bit better. i'd be giddy, but i think it might hurt

thanks for the advice on the probiotics, angelab. i still can't believe that as good care i was taking of myself, i got THIS slammed. it blows.

well, i'll be around. good luck to everyone, and i hope you all start feeling better soon, too.

i'm losing track of the days.. 40+3 i think..ive been taking motherwort tincture since my due date and its really been helping me feel more calm and patient in terms of meeting baby. i still really want to and very soon, but its less urgent now. since last night ive been having menstral like crampiness.. i wouldn't call it contractions by any long shot, but it feels like something is happening. its constant and not going away with motherwort or my homeopathics ive been taking.. i see my midwife today and because of our being away from home to have baby and being here already a month almost and still having to stay 2 weeks after baby is born, im considering having her do a stretch & sweep to see if it will get things going. ive read all of the many many many pro and cons of having it done, and i did have 2 when i was overdue with my daughter. the first one didn't do anything..the second may have helped. it wasn't massively uncomfy or anything.. im not feeling like i need any advice on the subject.. just putting it out there. i want to talk to my midwife about it still, but we had mentioned it at last weeks visit.

my grama is still in hospital, but on the mend. she may go home tomorow.
i know that she is going to die one of these days/months/years.. we have always been really close and it makes my heart ache. its weird to think of living in a world without someone you have known your whole life. she has always been the more spiritual and odd one in the family, like me and we are kindred spirits from way back. i dont want her to suffer, so when she goes i wish it to be swift and pain free.
sorry for the downer post
