did your baby "drop"

Just wondering...did your babies drop below the pubic bone before you went into labor? I'm concerned because mine is staying stubbornly put. I've had labor contractions for about 2 weeks (nothing regular) and am 40w5d.

i don't believe that my first dropped early. i never noticed it and the midwife never said, "oh he is engaged, or he dropped." i ended up giving birth at 41 1/2 weeks. and by 4cm he was low in my pelvis. i know this because the midwife reviewed my last birth with me at my last appointment. the labor was not the fastest in the world but it was definately not the longest. i went from 4cm to having a baby in a little under 7 hours. total labor from first contraction on was about 17 hours. so i wouldn't worry right off about your baby not having dropped.

this baby is much lower today than the last few weeks..my midwife just did an internal (i asked her to ) and her head is very easy to reach.. i don't think that it really makes That much difference if baby is low or not before labor begins.. they all come out in their own ways..plus having a baby riding super low isn't that comfortable.. talk about walking with a head between your legs. not so much fun.

Apparently my Little Guy has dropped but my DR had to tell me he had...I was certain he was still as high as ever.

This one can't make up her mind. She drops and then crawls her way (or so it feels) back up to my ribs on an almost daily basis.

My oldest didn't drop until I was far into transition and throwing up. I don't remember dropping with my youngest.

My babe didn't drop until he was ready to come. He was just as high as he liked and had me fooled into thinking he'd make it till his due date.

The same thing happened to me. I never got the watermelon-between-the-legs sensation/indicator. (Not that I'm complaining!)

Oh thanks for this thread! Daily I wonder or try not to worry if she's dropped yet, so it's nice to know that NOT dropping doesn't have to equal not progressing!

None of mine have dropped before I'm in active labor.

my first baby didn't drop until she was being born, and this little guy dropped a couple weeks ago, and since last week was "locked and loaded" (engaged and not moving).
