butter oil - how to take

I just got my butter oil as I'm planning to start supplementing the clo (Blue Ice) with vitamin k.

For 2 of my 3 children, I will be using it to heal, for one of my children it will be used as a maintenance for health.

First question:
1. Can I gently melt the oil? - they won't take it solid. I was going to melt it in a bowl over the coffee warmer.

2. For healing, how should I dose? I usually give the 1/2 tsp clo in the morning. I'll be giving the bo 3x/day at the dosage 1/2 tsp (per the bottle - green pastures). Should I also be splitting out the clo dosage or will the 1x per day be ok?

Thanks.

Well, the BO tastes pretty nasty, so I don't know if melted will work. You're also not supposed to heat it, but...when all else fails, give it a try! What I do is scoop out a bit and smash it into a spoon of ice cream. my 3 kids, 5, 3 and 2, are just thrilled to get ice cream and never notice the BO. I personally just scoop out a chunk and swallow it like a pill.

As for dosage, I don't really know. But I think it's fine to take the CLO all at once unless it bothers your stomach. I like to break mine up into two dosages when I am taking a lot, though. Try and see what works for you.

I don't see why melting would be a problem. It melts in my hand and I think it would be liquid in my kitchen in the summer (78 degrees). It's 98 degrees in my body! I wouldn't heat it over body temperature, but I don't know at what temp it starts losing nutritive properties.

I put it on top of our oatmeal in the morning, let it melt, then stir it in. It's also great on toast, French or otherwise. I don't like the consistency straight, and don't care much for the taste, but it's completely unnoticeable in oatmeal or on toast.

thank you for the replies!

the ice cream is a good suggestion. Now I want ice cream. Funny, I can swallow the 'liver pills', but I found myself gagging on the butter oil. I have a real problem with oils though. I can't even take coconut oil and have to hide CLO in juice when I take it.

I read in Nourishing Traditions that the Xfactor doesn't disappear after pasteurization, so heating it very low just to melting is probably ok. I think I'll try topping oatmeal or pancakes with it (it will melt in that case anyway). Thank you for the suggestions.

Funny, I had the same question myself! I ended up warming a small glass bowl in hot water and then adding the butter oil and swishing it around. As is slowly melts down I add the blue ice along with a drop of maple syurp and a squeeze of an piece of orange/lemon/ grapefruit and give it to my DS2 in a dropper to make sure it all goes down. It is so expensive I don't want to miss a drop! On second thought though maybe the citrus w/ the B. oil isn't a good digestive combo. . . Any thoughts? Maybe now I am using the B. oil I should quit the citrus squirt

I work for a company that sells BO, and we recommend NOT heating it.
