How much Kombucha should I drink daily?

I'm trying to use Kombucha to replace some of the very high-powered (and $$$$) probiotics I (and DS) have been on to combat our yeast (thrush).

How much should I drink daily? I've heard 4 oz in the morning and 4 oz at night - sound right?

I think you are supposed to start out slowly with it and build up, as in 1 oz. per day to begin. Once you've built up, GT's (conveniently) recommends one bottle per day. Their bottles are 16 oz. each.

However, I think it's somewhat subjective and probably how much feels good to you, is the right amount. Moderation in everything, and all.

i'd heard that homemade is much more powerful than storebought...

We started slow and built up over the course of a few weeks. Eventually we started drinking as much as we want

We're the same as the PP. We started slow and built up. I usually drink at least a cup with each meal (we drink homemade).

I refill the GT bottles and try to drink about a bottle a day. Some days I don't drink that much, then other days I drink two. I've got to the point where I sometimes kind of crave it, and other days I just don't want it.

Q. Can I drink kombucha during pregnancy?

A. If you are used to drinking kombucha, you can drink it while pregnant. It would be a good thing to drink 4 to 6 ounces with meals. However, if you have not drunk kombucha before, don't start while you are pregnant because occasionally someone has an adverse reaction and we don't want that to happen while you are pregnant. Don’t let kombucha be a substitute for your one quart of raw milk per day.
