You guys have all put a huge smile on my face today......Thanks!
The boppy cover was a little tricky and I had to make it twice in the end which was fine. I just traced the boppy on some fabric which a good inch to spare, I left the top open and then sewed the rest. Getting the boppy into the new cover took some time....and then sewing the the top shut took a little bit too.....I am not that happy with the how the top turned out but in the end it's will work. I though long and hard how to shut the thing....do I do a zipper? Or velcro? I thought the velcro would easily scratch and wasn't up to a zipper so I decided to just sew the thing shut and give myself the ok to just sew another cover later-I love change anyways so that part is exciting to me.
It's interesting because I am starting to see a theme for my projects-they are all all flollowing a chocolate/white/cream scheme
I know you can find patterns online because I remember looking-I am just NOT a pattern girl...I really like trying to do things myself, that's why I didn't use one.
This morning I made a changing pad cover which turned out great. I had priced those covers at target and your all going to love this-I think they are $16 -$20 bucks and I made mine for....$3.00!!! I saved a coupon to Joanne's fabrics and then bought some terry cloth material that is cream color....then cut it into a huge oval and sewed her up! Then some elastic inside the rim that I had sewn and there it was! I had also wanted to get a pad and had thought I would get some foam from the fabric store...but I ended up stopping at this children's up scale thrift store "other mothers" and found the exact pad that I really wanted for $7 bucks. So instead of paying between $30 and $40 for what I wanted I got it for $10........I just love it when you can do that
It makes me feel good inside.
Anyways anyone else have any projects they would like to share? Not like it's the time to START projects(although it does help the time pass even though it's not like I am tryingt o find things to do-keeping up with two little ones and a house and preparing for a birth takes oh...a little part of my day!) but hey let's inspire eachother!
