I am so shocked, angry and insulted. They said it was sexually offensive SEXUALLY EXPLICIT!!! . Well they have po'd the wrong lactacting mum!!!

I have already written a letter and started this petition....

PLEASE READ AND REPOST! Myspace deleted my breastfeeding pic
Hello everyone,

My name is Charlotte and I am a loving mother to a year old little boy named Ziggy. Recently I uploading a couple pics of us from Christmas Day, one was of me breastfeeding. Today (15/01/2008) I got a message from myspace help saying they had to delete one of my photos because it was either violent or sexually explicit! I have come to find out it was the one of me breastfeeding my child. I am totally shocked and discusted by this. Breastfeeding is NOT a sexual act, nor is it sexually explicit. This is how I feed my child. To be fair I think that myspace should delete all photos of ANYONE eating from the site. This ignorance is insulting and totally wrong. I am asking that everyone sign this petition and repost it to all. Please, myspace must know that breastfeeding is a normal natural thing and shouldn't be lumped into a the same category as violence and porn. Thank you.
Charlotte.
Mother to breastfed baby Ziggy.

To MYSPACE,

PLEASE STOP DELETING PHOTOS OF BREASTFEEDING MOTHERS AND INFANTS. BREASTFEEDING IS A NORMAL AND NATURAL THING AND SHOULD BE ACCEPTED AS SUCH. TO DELETE THESE PHOTOS IS TO DENY THE REALITY OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN TO WORLD OVER. PLEASE COME TO YOUR SENSES AND STOP.

Thank you,

1. Charlotte

Should I just boycott? Can you other mums with accounts please repost this petition or send a complaint email to management???

btw here is a link to the forbidden pic ...

grrrr

This is my myspace account: http://www.myspace.com/kristennelsonsella

I have four breastfeeding pictures in there, and they have never deleted any of mine. Does someone have to make a complaint first? How do they determine which ones should be deleted? Perhaps we should file complaints anytime we see a photo on there of a woman with a low cut top?

what a BEAUTIFUL BF picture! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. You both look beautiful and remind me of all those Madonna and Child works of art!

Yep, I'll repost what you wrote.

That is ridiculous. I mean, there are more revealing booty shots and booby shots with girls in thongs and skimpy tops on MySpace, than you see in your photo. Geez.

if you give your myspace name we can link up with you...

I stopped using MySpace because of this.

The fact is that they don't really give a rat's behind about revealing shots. And they don't care about perverts. And they don't really care about pedophiles.

But if you breastfeed, you are a target. I think that they are nasty immature jerkwads who enjoy targetting breastfeeding moms. They obviously do in on purpose, and they obviously LOOK for it.

They are mysogynists, who look the other way at soft porn because they LIKE the soft porn on their site. Regardless of their form letters, ACTIONS speak much louder than words and their actions are VERY clear.

MySpace WANTS to be a sex-soft-porn-booty-call site, and clearly enjoy targetting breastfeeding women. Probably one of the owner's or a senior staff person gets off on being a troll with PAY and an agenda.

The only way they'll stop is if they get taken to court for their clear violation of the law.

Myspace is ridiculous when it comes to nursing pics, but if you still want to use their site, here's a couple of solutions: 1. Set your profile to private. That way, NO ONE can see your pics or your site unless they are on your friends list. Be very careful who you add. Second option: set your pics to private. That way people can still view your site but can't view your pics unless they are on your friends list. If no one questionable can see your pics, than no one can report them. That's how they get deleted, because someone saw them and reported them. Myspace admins don't just patrol around on people's profiles looking for inappropriate pictures (they would never have the time anyway). They rely on users to report profiles and pics that they find inappropriate.

Exactly.

Same thing happens on photobucket, livejournal, facebook, and countless other sites.

It is very stupid.

I don't believe it. Too many of the other types of sites stay up, and these SPECIFICALLY come down. I think they are lying, and I think that the facts speak for themselves.

Great photo - link us to your myspace and we can leave you our bf'ing photos in your comments! Hey it's not your responsibility! PP is correct -- it seems myspace has trolls specifically who target bf'ers. Probably the same ones who leave comments like "bf in the privacy of your homes!" on youtube.

I would LOVE to see all your wonderful bf pics in my comments!!

The thing is a have another bf photo in my profile that been there a long time and they havn't taken that one down. I would love to find out who complained. Who would do such a thing, its just childish. I am so dissapointed and annoyed right now....still!!!

I will put my pics on private soon.... BUT why should I just so i don't get targeted for discrimination? this sucks.

btw... thank you for the nice comments about the picture in question. I love the picture, its one of my favourites. It sucks that someone is turning it into something bad... thanks again.

That is a beautiful pic! Myspace is dumb, plenty of teenage girls on there with hardly any clothes on, bunch of mysoginists, I reckon a lot of people get jealous when they see kids breastfeeding and project annoyance and oh we are so offended instead, wake up world!

I'm about ready to protest all those half nekkid pix of 15 year old girls! Humph. I don't wanna bring another woman down but good golly Ms. Molly. Seriously!
just sent you a message and tried to "befriend" you.

OMG you can't even "see" anything! I purposely put up bfing pics on my myspace bc I was sick of seeing bbs in a disgusting way i.e. pushed up with only fingers covering the nipples in provocative ways!
My bfing pics are showing way more than yours and they've been up for awhile.
Someone def has to flag your pics and then you get them removed. Got any enemies that you know of on there?

So sorry this happended. I seem to recall this happening recently to another Mama on MDC and then there was a big write-in campaign...Not sure what happened with it though

As a side note: Myspace (which I boycott totally) is owned by NewsCorp (Murdoch) the same company that owns FOX News...enough said...

Your picture is beautiful. And there isn't even a tad of nipple or areola showing. What is there problem? I am sorry they deleted your pic. It is FAR from sexual, as we all know!
