I can't do this...

I woke up Sunday at 2:30pm. I took a 1.5 hr nap and managed to sleep for about 2hrs tonight since then. And both of those periods of sleep involve lots of waking up to nurse or just because. And tonight I'm up because I'm having gallbladder attacks. I have been having them since Christmas and I hate being constantly doubled over in pain for hours when they hit.

School starts Wed. and I haven't even managed to get myself to the bookstore for my books. I start each day with a huge list of things that need to get done and rarely manage to get any of it done because I'm busy with the kids, don't feel good, or am seriously just plain lazy.

I'm going to call in a few hours and get in to be seen at the doctor's office for my stomach problems. Hopefully they can offer me some sort of relief. This is the longest that an attack has lasted (I think it hit around 10pm, and it's still going, though the cramps/spasms are much further apart now).

I hope you're feeling better soon, mama.

Oh Dennie, I am so sorry. I hope your doctor is able to offer some relief. Hang in there. Maybe when you're feeling better physically, everything else will get a little bit more bearable.

Hoping the doctor can help you.

Ugh - that sounds miserable {{hugs}} I hope your doc can offer some relief. Is there anyone who can come over and help you out with the kids a little?

Umm, yeah. I wound up falling asleep and any kind of movement made my stomach cramping come back, so I just stayed asleep all day and as still as I could. My stomach is still bothering me a bit, but no double-over cramps in the past couple of hours (and they'd slowed way down before that). My mom did take both girls for me all day; thankfully I'd had some milk pumped so it wasn't an issue. I'm calling the doctor in the morning. DH gets off work at 8am and then doesn't go back until Friday night, so it'll be easier for me to go in when I have him to help with the girls anyway.

You've got them! Good luck and many healing vibes to you! I'm thinking this is probably the route they'll want to go with me, as well. Which is why I think I'm avoiding being seen about it. :x

this is a last ditch effort for me, I'm slowly starving to death regardless of how much I eat, so doc says "maybe you just think you eat :lets take out the galbladder then it wont hurt and you will eat more" (I have pain but no stones) maybe you just think you eat : DH thinks thats hilarious, jokes about it... oh look Amber ate that half of large pizza... must be mass hallucination

I also developed gall bladder issues while pregnant. Have you tried increasing your fiber? I have found that as long as I have a high fiber food with every meal (whole grain bread, broccoli, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, spinach), I have zero gall bladder attacks. When I skip the fiber, the gall bladder attacks come back. For instance, I always eat a big bowl of broccoli when we have mac 'n cheese, and always put loads of spinach in my lasagna. I encourage you to try it before resorting to surgery.

Oh no I hope you feel better.

Oh gallbladder issues are so not fun. I've had one attack since giving birth and it was aweful. I'v tried controling it w/ diet but i think w/ the wacky postpartum hormones my gallbladder is super sensative.

I hop your doctor can help.

Oh and i've found putting lemon juice in my water helps w/ my GB.

I would recommend trying two things
a gallbladder cleanse (it causes you to painlessly expel the stones if you have them)
if that doesn't work there is an excellent book called the cure for all diseases, it has details on how to kill parasites associated with gallbladder disorders

BTW my surgery was textbook, but I am in some of the worst pain I have ever had in my life, thank goddess for narcotics which I am eating like candy... that being said about half the people I talked to before surgery returned to work after having it done... so I guess it really depends on you
