S/O - What Christmas presents were NOT big hits with your 5 year old?

I'll start:

Playstands. Also not a hit with my 3 year old or my 16 month old. They are virtually ignored. Go figure.

Oh, and the Waldorf dolls that I was sure DD2 and DS would be insanely attached to, and therefore spent $130 on (combined)? Also not a hit.

Care to share (vent)?

Any of the craft stuff she got. Poor thing just can't stand to do crafts around her big sister-- she compares herself, and it makes her crazy.

The crayola cutter was particularly disappointing.

I got my DD's a bigger dollhouse and it was definitely not a hit. She had a smaller one and it was too small. The pieces, the people. So I got a 3 story dollhouse with bigger furniture and they don't play with it.

A doll from her grandmother. DD is just not very interested in dolls.

Lincoln logs and all the crayons, playdoh and other crafty stuff.

The real, nice telescope my brother gave my 8 YO. My DH loves astronomy - so maybe this will be a hit someday. But for now? I feel awful about the money spent on something he didn't adore we are not strongly pushing (WHY does the best astronomy viewing occur between 2 and 5 AM during the coldest months of the year???).

The lap harp. That's all I can think of at the moment, though I'm sure there is more, since tonight she was moaning about having "nothing to dooooooo".....

my 6 year old got a magic set he hasnt really used. In the past we got him a ton of plan city wooden cars and the garage and the gas station.... he never plays with it.... we also in the past got him a wooden marble run, its rarely used... What a waste of money.

For my dd........ I think the most disappointing purchases in the past are her wooden horse barn and her wooden doll house. While she plays with them, i don't think she plays with them enough to justify the money we spent.
