Display Ideas for Patch Collection

We have been collecting patches whenever we travel or visit zoos and museums with ds. I have a stack of very colorful patches and I'd like to figure out a way to display them in his room. I'm coming up blank...any ideas?

We also collect those rolled pennies too...what can you do with them?

My husband collects patches, too. I got a wool Army blanket (washed it several times), had his name embroidered on it and added the patches. There is plenty of room to add more as he collects them

I have also known people who have sewn them on to a blanket for their kids.

Yeah, I had thought about the blanket idea too ...In fact I am currently in the process of making ds a quilt from his various "babies first" clothes and such...the only problem is that patches don't always weather the washing machine very well and any blanket that ds uses will have to be washed on occasion. I suppose I could make a wall hanging, but I'd like to do something really creative with them.

The only other ideas I've had is 1) scrapbooking them, or 2) hanging them up on some sort of bulletin board. Neither of these seem all that creative to me.
