Montessori Mamas - Page 2

I guess it's the time of year, we are also looking at schools (preK to 5th). Montessori sounds great in philosophy, but how do the kids compare in terms of national testing, getting into college, etc? Do Montessori kids also get the national tests? I am not saying that I am a test maniac, I just want to make sure that the school/philosophy I choose will help Leah later...does that make sense?

Deni--
It depends on the school, but the one my boys go to scores very high on achievement tests, higher than the public school average.
The key is that it instills a love of learning that the children can take anywhere, because they are the ones who decide the best way to learn, they are taught self discipline, which is more useful than imposed discipline.
