Milk allergy and persistant Diarrhea after antibiotics XPOSTED

I think my daughter has a milk protein allergy. Could be other things on top of milk too though. She was on antibiotics for a week due to strep throat. I took her off of them a few days early because she was having terrible diarrhea and they didn't seem to be working. She ended up having (undiagnosed, because my Dr. wouldn't see me) Roseola. She is fine now, no fevers, no rash, acting totaly normal. Except, she still has diarrhea. She has it twice to four times a day, usually at night. and sometimes its like green or orange water with pieces of food.

She was doing ok with small amounts of dairy but now even the smallest amount is affecting her. At least, I think thats what is causing it. Do you think the antibiotics just messed up her stomach/system and that is why the diarrhea is continuing? Is this something I can fix with probiotics. I went and bought some for infants/nursing moms but it has dairy in it. So now Im confused. Should I give them to her anyways? I found a probiotic that is dairy free but its for adults so I don't know how much to give her. Help I feel so lost.

TIA!

so she just had diarrhea again...green and this time it left her labia and butt looking sun burned. Its SO red My poor baby. Would allergies do this? She seems like it really hurt when I tried to wipe her. There were little pieces of food stuck to her again so i just gave her another bath. Shes never had reactions like this before.

Yep. Antibiotics do a number on digestive systems. Start the dairy free probiotics (hopefully someone will have some suggestions on that), completely eliminate dairy and just let her body work that stuff out. In the meantime, just wipe as gently as possible, do oatmeal baths and put something on her butt after diaper changes. We use Aquaphor after my son's diaper has been changed not as gently as it needed. It really seems to help keep all the gunk from sticking and then burning him.

I hope she's feeling better!

I am going on a search today to try and find a dairy free probiotic. And I am using butt paste on her after diaper changes, and trying to let her go diaper free for a while (which results in her peeing on my floor ) Hopefully this will go away soon! Thank you for responding!
