Family of 3 Grocery Budget

If you have a family of 3--2 adults and a babe--what's your grocery budget? I'm talking just food here. We live in PA and our grocery budget is $200. At least, that's what I have it set to, but we may or may not make it. I'm hoping we don't go over... But this is the first month I'm tracking, and I just thought $200 sounded reasonable... I thought maybe it would help to see what others' budget.
TIA!

Ours was $250, when we were budgeting. We have slacked big time over the last year.

We also had a garden and a pick your own CSA during the summer. Garden expenses became part of the grocery budget, but the CSA (only $200/season) was separate.

We eat meat. Only DD gets the no-hormone milk.

We spend about $150-$175/month for me, DH, and 15 month old

Mine is about $75-150, depending on the month and how much we're home.

About $200-250 a month for dh, dd (7) and me.
We eat meat and eat at home for most of our meals.

Ours is $300-S400 a month. That's for me, DH & our four year old DD.

I try to keep it under $400 a month for DF and I. We also eat meat with most meals, and we snack a lot.

Ours is $300. I find it hard to stick to that budget most months, though.

Ours is $200. I'm trying to get it down a bit, though.

I stay under $400 a month for me, dh and 4yo ds and that is for mostly organic, including meat. I inlcude household supplies like tp, dish soap, etc. in that budget as well.

I've found myself spending $300 and more per month, and that is just for myself and my child! And we don't eat meat. This month I've set myself at $250 to see how it goes...and it's not easy! I live in NY, and the prices around here are sad and bad. (I should add that amount needs to include household supplies, pet food, etc, as well.)

I'm in the south and we spend $400 a month for our family of three. That includes all household items too though, like shampoo, dish detergent, paper towels, etc... We eat meat, eat out a few times a week, and I don't shop at different stores for sales or clip coupons. (So we could do better!)

We are in RI and a family of 4 but the newborn doesn't eat food. So one nursing mama, a toddler, and a school age child and we spend about $200 a month for TONS of fruits and veggies and whole grains and I buy some convenience foods like nutri-grain bars and individual yogurts for those rushed mornings when it's too hectic for a real breakfast before the bus comes.

I am trying for $150/month for dh, 4yo dd and I. And then another $20 for dish soap/laundry soap/shampoo, and $15 for cat food.

Wow. I guess I'm the big spender. Our budget is $600 per month!

But then, food is my big passion. I sacrifice almost all other luxuries so I can do my food thing. Also, we never eat out, so that's all meals. We eat locally and seasonally, but that includes things like locally-harvested sea salt at $5 for a small bottle. We also buy organic meat and eggs. It also includes all household supplies. So we have a really high food budget but almost no dining-out budget.

We live in Nova Scotia and I have heard that food is expensive here, but I think I'm just trying to make excuses. Maybe I'll get inspired to try to get it down. I do cook and bake everything from scratch, including our bread. I wonder where our money is going??? Ouch. That's for 6-foot-tall dh, me and
4 yo dd, who is not a big eater.

Food **is** expensive here. It's easy to spend a lot, especially if you're buying local and organic. We spend about $200-$250/month/family of 4 but it is *hard* work and very little organic (just what I can find reduced).

Oh! I was just thinking about this when I saw this thread. Why work schedule has just changed from an everning schedule to a early day schedule, so I finally feel like I have a bit of control over the family's food preparation. I've just begun to meal-plan, only grocery shop once a week & keep track of what we're spending.

Right now we're about $300/month. I'm hoping that once we get into a better routine, I can reduce this a bit.

That's for DP, myself & a 3 year old

We are probably in the $600 pluss range. I live in suburban seattle. Or as I like to say it the most expensive place on earth. We buy mostly organic. I spend typically $100 wk at trader joes and anywhere from $50-$70 at the other grocery store filling in the blanks. This also includes household expenses and an every other month trip to costco for paper products, etc. We also only drink organic milk.. no hormones here

OH WOW! : I *wish* I could do that!
What do you eat? Asking out of curiosity here... When I get to the point of tracking everything purchased instead of just the money spent, I'll probably find things to cut out.
