Magazine subscriptions

For any of you who enjoy magazines, you can go to discount.countryliving.com and receive a year for $10 or two years for $18. Once you make your order, you're offered a year of House Beautiful and Good Housekeeping for $10 each.

I like to subscribe about once every five years. That way, I get to see decorating trends and get my fill of pretty pics but any more often than that I get tired of the magazine clutter.

Horizon Organics is having a promotion where you can get a free subscription to Organic Gardner. All you need is four yogurt tops (from the large containers) and send it to them by January 31st.

yep, do that too You can usually find one by googling the mags name plus free subscription so say you wanted a free sub to Parents mag (its just an example!) You'd put "parents magazine free subscription" without the quotes.

You can ask at your local library and see if they carry or are willing to start carrying the magazines you like. I'm dropping all of my magazine subscriptions because my library started carrying them when I asked. I even offered to pay for the Mothering subscription, but they declined and said that they're thrilled to get requests.

I also have gotten my magazines off ebay for years!! They don't offer everything I want, but they have like 3 years worth of magazines for under 10 bucks on many decorating and woman's magazines. Make sure you read their feedback and go with a reputable seller.

The reason they can sell the subscriptions so cheaply , is the magazines are supported by the advertisers, and the magazine people are willing to sell the subscriptions super cheap to get the numbers of subscribers up, so their ad sales go up when they show the higher number of subscribers!!
