Is a play kitchen worth it? - Page 2

We've got quite a box of accessories (pans, crockery and some food) which all gets played with a lot.

Our current kitchen is a cardboard box with burners painted on the top and a door cut into it. I'm hoping when we move we can find space for a more substantial model.

For my two at least a lot of the fun is in opening and closing the doors.

We got ours a year ago when Denali was three hand a half. She LOVES it and plays with it daily.

I think it depends on the child. We got ours a year ago, when DD1 was 4 years old and DD2 was 1.5 years old.

Now, DD2 plays with it 3-4 times a week; DD1 maybe once a week.

Their favorite things to go with it have been wooden Haba eggs and kid-sized muffin tins. And wooden fruit.

We bought a play kitchen for DD 3rd birthday. We've had it for about a year and a half. She plays with it atleast once a day. DS also plays with it too. We have a Little Tykes indoor/outdoor one. It's very gender neutral.

We just got one for our children for Christmas. I made it from a shelf from Ikea and will just remove the shelf when they outgrow it.

Here's a picture. I think the most expensive part was the faucet, and I could have done that for less money. I like that I will be able to make it taller as they get older if they're still interested in it.
