This barely qualifies as sewing, I realize, but I want to make a wrap sling for my baby. What kind of fabric works well for this? She'll be a summer baby, so I want a light weight fabric, but it needs to be strong enough to support her safely for awhile. It also needs to hold a knot well. I'd prefer a non-stretch woven fabric.
I made a quick trip to Joann's today and they had some linen-look fabric (50/50 cotton/poly blend) in great colors. They also had a light 100% cotton gingham type fabric. They had real linen, but only in unbleached and not nearly enough. My big concern is whether they're strong enough, and I have no idea how strong that would be!
Also, anyone have good dimensions for a long wrap-style sling that can be used with most ties? I'm thinking 16-17ft long, and I'm not sure about the width.
Thanks in advance!!
