Making a Waldorf doll (Joy's Baby Companion) and can't figure out how to attach limbs

I've been struggling with this doll for so long, but I'm almost there. I can't seem to find a neat and sturdy way to sew the arms and legs on. Can anyone offer any suggestions or links for how to do this?

Thanks

You use an invisible back stitch with double threaded needle, stitches about 1/4" long. The IBS really hides well and looks smooth when you finish. HTH

I tried googling that to find instructions or pictures, but I couldn't find anything. Is there an easy way to describe how to do this?
Thanks!
