Oatmeal and pancakes.

I like to make up a big batch of jumbo low fat bran or banana muffins and freeze them, then DH takes one to work for breakfast each day. Quiche can be made in muffin tins and it freezes well.

If you have the time, you can't beat oatmeal or eggs as far as cost goes.

I'm hopelessly hooked on expensive fiber one cereal with unsweetened soy milk.

Grits are one of those things you either love or hate. They taste like polenta, to me. Kinda of creamy, with a faint corn taste.

I cook them 4 parts liquid to one part grits, simmer for at least 5 minutes, as long as you have time for. I like to use half water/half milk, but even just water tastes fine.

Season to taste with salt, pepper, butter. We like cheddar cheese in ours.

I think most breakfast foods are inexpensive compared to other meals.

My dd has been eating oatmeal this winter. It's cheaper than the cold cereal.
