Daily Check-In for 1/18

hi ladies-

i guess i'll take a turn at cranking up the check-in.

good luck to mama bear today, with her planned induction.

and good luck to all of you who are term or overdue, and feeling eager to hold your babes in arms.

i feel like yesterday was kind of a shake-up sort of day around here. hope we are all able to find some calm and healing energies, to center ourselves in peace, and get some rest.

(how is it that i am able to start this thread? does that mean that everyone else is either (a) in labor or holding new babies; or (b) finally getting some sleep?)

i am ok. had a good talk with DH last night about all of my anxieties and despairs at this point. really taking the posterior baby thing hard, and trying everything i can at this point (in desperation) to get him to move. we both agree that as long as labor symptoms hold off, our home is better without MIL, but we'll take that as it comes.

we are really hoping this is a good, peaceful, weekend for us.

keep us posted on how you're all doing!

be well, ladies.

Checking in. Had a MW appointment yesterday. I will be 42 weeks Sunday so Monday we have another NST scheduled and a biophysical profile. I'm trying to focus on going into labor before Monday so that I don't have to think about induction. I had another acupuncture treatment for induction yesterday.

I am really yearning to hold this little baby.

Im still pregnant! My due date is either the 19th (tomarrow) or the 21st (which is what my mw goes by) so I still could be pregnant for a couple of weeks. Boy that sounds daunting! I dont have any news just wanted to say Good Morning! I just got my middle son onto the bus and am planning to lay back down since the other 2 are still sleeping.

upset...

Contractions about 8-10 minutes apart all night, its nearing 6am, and I am not looking like I am going to fast forward into active labor. I am so frustrated right now. I am having a good cry at present.

It's looking more and more like I am going to the hospital....induction...ugh...and my ideas of a birth center are quickly disappearing.

I know my body is progressing, and I know there is a risk for infection...but I know I am not moving quick enough and I am so mad, and disappointed. I even had more bloody show this morning...

Goodluck to you other moms. I will update again later.

oh, seadoula, that was not what i wanted to hear! i've been thinking of you and hoping you'd have your baby by now. i am so sorry things have slowed down.

i hope that if you *do* have to go into the hospital, you can still have a positive, empowering experience.

in the least, know that one way or another, you'll be holding your baby soon.

I just got off the phone with the hospital. I'm in! Wahoo!

I need to leave the house in 25 minutes. Even though I've had my hospital bag packed, the baby stuff in order, etc. for a few weeks, I suddenly don't feel ready.

Of to wake up hubby and dd. Enjoy your day, ladies! I'll post as soon as I get home.

And HardCoreMom: you are very sweet.

39w1d.

When i first got PG, NEVER thought i'd be THIS pregnant. I had my first son at 38w4d. Second son at 36w4d. I wanted to have HER by that time. I guess Since its a girl, she has her own schedule. I have an OB appt today, so hopefully things are progressing. I don't dialiate farther than 3 on my own, which i'm at now.

Every past weekly dr's appt (since 36w) he said he couldn't give me Pitcoin (yea, the devil, but i have to have it to have my kids ) until i was 39 weeks.

Let the pitocin drip begin ROFL!

Just checking in, glad you are feeling more at pease HCM. Good luck and ELV Seadoula and Mama Bear.

I have a chiro appt this morning, then a dr appt and get my car services this afternoon, so I will have a full day.

I also never thought i would be preg this long, it is nice, but kinda weird. I am due the 19th by charting or the 23 by LMP. I had DD#1 at 40 weeks (after 4 days of constant prodromal labor), and the others are 38 and 36.5, so I ready to have this baby now.

Have a good day everyone!

I'm finally settling into the fact that this kid does have it's own schedule.
I'm 39 + 3 I think, seeing MW in an hour. I had acupuncture yesterday which made me feel soooo sleepy I pretty much went to bed for the rest of the day. Acupuncturist said if the baby is ready things will go ahead, but if the kid isn't ready it would just relax things for me. Guess that is what I got. (sorry if this is tmi, but it relaxed my bowels just fine...)
Though, I did have some regular, extremely mild contractions for a couple hours last night all it did was get rid of some more of my mucus plug. It was wierd, they were consistently 7 minutes apart but so mild like bh kind of contractions.
Good luck to everyone else today.
My bday is tomorrow, so maybe I'll have a baby on my birthday!
Who knows.

I'm sorry things haven't picked up for you yet! Have you chosen a hospital to go to? Just curious, since I'm in the same geographic area. I don't really know where I'd go if I had to go in, and suspect I'll probably just go with whatever my mw suggests, should it come to that.

Good luck today---I'll be thinking about you!

I am doing well today! I am almost 40wks and in better spirits then I was at 37wks. Baby is sitting in a better place (not on my left hip)! Thank God for Massage and Chiropractic

I will be thinking of all of you today! It is so fun to look and see what new baby has been born!

I'm here.. 39 today.. appt is tue but so is the full moon!!

Yesterday and the night before I had back ache and contractions 7-10 min apart but then fizzled out.. I'm patient.. My 1st was 13 days late Madison was 3 days early and i was induced 10 day searly with Aidan so I know this babe will come on his own time. I'm just tired of being sore in my pelvic bone and not being able to walk without pain. : Other than that I have actually slept good after my 2am peeing spree.. but then the alarm goes off at 7 for school for the kids.. : I forsee a nice nap today in my future.

Mamabear!
How exciting to know that you will soon be holding that baby! I hope your induction is gentle and you get the birth experience you want.

SeaDoula,
I'm so sorry babe isnt cooperating. Have you talked to your midwife about anything to promote labor intensifying? What about some gentle nipple stim? I've heard that can really help when labor is started. I hope that things start progressing for you and you are able to have your birthing center birth. I know how disorienting it feels to plan for something so long and then feel like you might have to deal with a hospital birth. s

desert_mommi,
I hope the acupuncture works for you. I do think that the sessions have helped my cervix to progress, they say if it is going to send you into labor it will be within 48 hours. Maybe you will get a special bday present! Good luck!

Everyone else...

After the membrane sweep I had quite a bit of bloody show. Who woulda thought I'd be so excited about blood.. LOL. Waiting for my midwife to call me in about half an hour to check in before I drink my yummy castor oil milkshake then Im hoping this show gets on the road and we have a baby today. I'd appreciate any good vibes anyone had to spare.

Hi, its exciting to read about all these mamas who are getting so close! I'm 39w tomorrow, and now I hope that the babe waits a bit as I am really sick. I'm home from work today and had to leave early yesterday. My head and throat and chest are so full of gunk, and I have no voice. It made me really emotional to think how would I deal with labor if it started now, as I really doubt I'd have the strength to do the natural birth I want.

I'm enjoying reading your updates while spending my day with tea and honey, my neti pot and whatever else I can come up with to get through this... good luck!

I'm almost 39 weeks (according to conception not US, ha) and getting excited. I found out yesterday that my midwife of choice (there are two great ones but I've had this one for most of my appointments) is leaving January 31st! And she's just on call next week . . . . so I came home yesterday energized and focused on having this baby next week (if that's possible). She did say that baby is nice and low (yipppeee). I walked A LOT yesterday and had some good, strong BH while walking. A few I really had to focus on sagging my belly out and a few I could actually feel the muscles pulling up on my cervix. So that's exciting.

Today I am a bit sore from all the walking, tired from waking up at 4 am and really feeling pregnant. But that's good because it's all signs that the end is somewhere near!

Best wishes to those ready for babies!!!

Thats so exciting Mamabear!! I cant wait to hear your birth story and see some pictures!

Seadoula- you can always do the antibiotics if you are worried about infection. I did with my last so I could continue to labor and birth at the birth center and I did!! My membranes had been ruptured for 24 hours or so.

I'm hoping to go into labor this weekend. I sort of got my hopes up last night thinking that I was feeling "different" - like my body was gearing up for things. I finally got to sleep around 4 AM and feel just fine this AM, unfortunately :

Going on a walk in a bit to see if I can get things started. I really hope to go into labor naturally. I have an induction scheduled for next Thursday due to GD. I hope I won't need it...

HCM - I hear you on the posterior worries. I've tried for weeks to get this baby to turn. I finally stopped fixating on it, though I can tell it is usually in a ROP position or completely posterior. I only lay on my left side, I try sitting in all the *correct* positions, spend time on the birth ball, hands and knees, etc. Nothing helps. I just hope it turns during labor. If not, I'll do my best to deal. My focus right now is getting this baby out before next Thurs.
