The attention span of a toddler

That's what I have right now. I can not stick with anything without becoming almost immediately distracted with something else. Combine that with a real lack of motivation, and I am getting NOTHING done all day. I can't even sit and read a book for any length of time. I lose interest after a few pages. Gah! I still have six weeks or so to go. I still have things to get done. I need some energy, some motivation, and some concentration.

Green tea helps me. I know it has a bit of caffine, but it helps me keep my energy up and on track on the bad days.

My naturopath says to use the same tea bag and keep filling it with hot water through the day. The more you use it, the more the antioxidents come out and it's great for you.

Only weeks left mama, hang in there!

I'm right there with you on the attention span, thing ...however today I'm actually getting stuff done. I have 13-14 qts of chili bubbling away in 3 crock pots (maybe the attention span thing has to do with why there's so much chili - don't tell dh how many packages of dried beans to soak when you're distracted! : ) and have gotten a bunch of other stuff done. Luckily I have four kids here to remind me that I"m doing things like, say, cooking!

This entire pregnancy I've been only able to read "young adults" books a chapter at a time - or books with birth stories or short stories in them. I try to watch a tv show, but get too distracted. I actually made it through an entire movie a few weeks ago, but only because dh and I shelled out the $ to see it in a theater and I had lots of munchies to keep me occupied!

Amanda, I'm sorry to mention this but you know you can freeze soaked beans, right? (and cooked ones?)
My toddler is absolutely single-minded, she wants to eat everything in the house and she wants to eat it all now. No attention problems there. Her mama, otoh, has other priorities : Not a good mix...

Yes - I know you can freeze soaked beans, but I figured as long as I was making chili I might as well just make a bunch! I figure we'll eat some over the next couple days, I'll freeze some for me for after birth, and I have a BUNCH of friends all due in the next few months, so I'll package some for babymoon meals for them!

My toddler was eating the beans as I was making the chili....and a tangerine, an apple, some banana chips, peanut butter on a spoon and some leftover Indian food. He's napping now and will most likely be requesting food again when he wakes. We should get them together and let them have at a pile of food while we snooze!

Ha! My toddler eats next to nothing. Food is not something that keeps his interest. We should get together so that he can learn by example.

mama_nym - I know what you mean about reading books and watching movies. My husband and I went out for dinner and a movie tonight, and I was a little bit wary of going to the movie because I just can't concentrate for that long. But we had a great time! I guess there wasn't anything else on hand to do, so I didn't get as distracted. BTW, good for you with all you got done today. It's great to have some good days to make up for the other days.
