Does anyone sew underpants for their kids?

Me! But I still haven't figured out how to inset elastic on my serger, so I do a casing method. I like WeeWiki Knickers free pattern- super easy, lots of variables.

Here you go http://www.thenappynetwork.org.nz/im...a_Knickers.pdf

I have made them from old t-shirts and found the pattern to be good.

This page has all sorts of pants and nappy patterns and teh forum link from it is worth a look for tips.

Yup! I make dd's unders using patterns from Ottobre magazine issue 04/04. That issue has both traditional brief and boxer brief patterns. The fit is perfect. I was so tired of odd fitting RTW underpants!

I use Kwik Sew pattern 2464 (view B) for ds with one change... I do a fabric covered elastic waist rather than bare elastic.

Falcon---Just regarding the circumcision thing, OMG I am in total agreemnt with you. It makes me sadder than just abobut anything else in the world.

I'll check out the Kwik_sew. I want to make some undies too. I'd also like to make some for myself. How hard could it be?

Well,I tried to make a pair using a pair of my daughter's underpants as a pattern. That didn't work.It was funny though.I'm not really sure how it went so wrong but my daughter and I had a good laugh.

I guess I'll have to try one of the patterns. Why am I so afraid of patterns?

Um, because you have to print them off, cut them out and then pin them on the fabric (or use a sharpie to draw round them!!!) then cut out? Sooo time consuming....... I put it off too.

Really its not that hard. You don't even have to read the instructions if you don't want to
