Headband or head wrap tuturials?

I am in the process of dreading my hair and do not know how to knit so I want to make headbands and/or wraps for my hair out of cloth. Does anyone have any tips for me?

You could use this pattern (click to download) but make both sections longer and the un-elasticated but wider maybe?

I've done several of these as quick party gifts and they are really easy to sew. It is literally more ironing than anything else then sewing a few seams!
