So I was NIPing dd in the Barnes and Noble cafe the other day and I was sitting across from two tables. One had about six women who looked like they had all OD'ed on Botox and the other had two women in their sixties. The table with the six women started staring and snickering when they saw me nursing, and I got flustered. I didn't feel like I should have said anything because they didn't address me directly, however I wasn't really jazzed about being on display. Well I reckon the two older ladies picked up on this because they said very loudly "your baby is beautiful! You sure are doing the right thing by giving her the food that she deserves!" etc. They really made my day,and redirected my attention when I needed it most! When the big table heard them talking to me about breastfeeding I saw a few eye rolls and then they left!

Just thought I would share my experience!

Golly. I graduate from college and THEN you guys get all the good stuff! All we had when I was there was Hastings.

The only thing better would have been if one of the ladies whipped out a booby at the catty bunch... just to annoy them.

Ah, sigh, my humor is a bit off tonight.

I'll never be able to watch a rerun of the Golden Girls in the same light ever again...

The bad thing is a friend of mine who is over says he could see her doing that too...

Oh...I wouldn't say that Jtown is good yet. We only have one decent bar/restaurant and then a bunch of chain stores. Starbucks rolled into town, but I dig The Edge. Thats where we have our breastfeeding support meetings, so if you're ever in town come by and see us!

Those older women really rocked, I would call them tough broads (lovingly, of course)!
