Just a shout out...thank you to Nestle

So...in the book Motherfood, it is suggested that malted barley is highly lactogenic. The past few nights before bed, I've been fixing myself a tall glass of oatmilk, then adding some chocolate syrup and few heaping tablespoons of nestle malted milk powder. I give him bottles overnight because I don't have patience to work with his tongue tie overnight (long story), but we get back to nursing (or trying to) in the morning. Well, since I've been having this malt drink before bed, I have milk literally pouring out of me in the morning (this has NEVER happened before). This morning the front of my shirt is all wet and milky (I may wring it out into a bottle for later...LOL).

Hmmm....I just discovered that NOW foods also makes a malted mik powder, but for now...Thank you Nestle!!

An interesting, helpful hint for moms looking to make more milk. Perhaps this thread is more useful in "breastfeeding challenges" or "breastfeeding" than "lactivism", since Nestle is one of the worst CODE offenders and actively works to sabotage breastfeeding world-wide.

ETA: MarcyC... YAY! I'm so glad that you are 'overflowing' with milk today. That is fantastic news! :

oats are also a great galactologue, so it could be the oatmilk that's helping, too. that's great that you found something that helps you, but Nestle is responsible for sabotaging countless nursing relationships across the world and many people (myself included) believe Nestle kills babies. I hope you are able to find a different brand that is as effective.

Let's hope someone high up at Nestle gets all itchy or can't sleep or gets restless leg from your success!

Good luck wringing out your shirt!

Wasn't the OP being slightly ironic? I think. Hm.
Yes, given OP's other posts I'd say that she's relishing the irony of her use of the product to *increase* her lactation, which is directly contrary to the company's goals for her and other mothers.

Kudos for finding something that's worked so well! Here's hoping your search for a suitable non-Nestle version (it sounds like you've found one) is successful too.
