i made this.

it was actually pretty easy, and i'm planning on making them for gifts for a few of my pregnant friends.

anyone think i could sell them? if so...how much would you pay for it? it's approx. 9" if you can't tell the scale in the picture.

That is soooo adorable!!! I think you could totally sell them. How long do they take to make and how much do the materials cost? I would factor those things into the cost for sure! Very cute, wow!!!

about 3-4 hours start to finish... and i used 3 fat quarters from a quilt shop, so maybe $6 for fabric (could def. get it cheaper than that though) and $3? for stuffing... (i used an old pillow).

I am thinking about $30-35 + s&h. What are the dimensions?

9X9X9, but i could adjust that. i think it would be really fun to have a big one...

that is so cool...how did you make it? did you have a pattern or just wing it?
I think a smaller one and a big one would be cool! I was thinking the larger size would be good for a baby who is learning to pull up or for a mom to use as a litte footstool while nursing. It looks very versitile, kind of like a Boppy pillow...we use it for nursing, or to let the baby sit or lay in, the older kids lay around on it, whatever!

i got it from a blog, a woman saw one for sale in china? i think? and figured out the pattern herself.

i think i'll make a few from fabric i have already and see if i can get any bites on the tp and maybe etsy. probably have better luck on etsy, don't you think?

haha. my 3 yo said the same thing. just a cloth baby toy!
My first response was "How cute!"

My second response was "Man, I really need to sew more often!" I am definitely not at the skill level where that would only take me 3-4 hours.

I agree with PP's, I think they would sell and different size options too.

They're really cute Don't forget hyenacart as well, another alternative to etsy

That is AWESOME!!!! No idea on price, but I'd say don't sell yourself short - that's a really, really great little toy. Make sure to let us know if you do start to sell them (if you're allowed to let us know)

Ok I get the idea of toy now

You could put jingle type bells inside to make it make a little noise

great idea! would it be better if they were inside so they couldn't be pulled off? i was thinking a few loops of ribbon would be cool too.

Yeah thats what I was thinking. Sew the bells into the middle and then add loops of ribbon so that people can add little toys too!
I like the idea of the little bells being inside so there wouldn't be a swallowing concern. And the loops of ribbon would be cool too. How fun!

Great ideas everyone is having! I was also thinking about using different textures of fabric and ribbon so that it is a very tactile toy, and maybe getting some shiny material that is reflective so the baby could see themselves! What a fun brainstorm!

Man! I wish I were more crafty! This is a very cool toy and I would totally buy one for my baby. Good luck as you make these!

Sweet, E!

I'd pay 25-30 for a plain cotton one and 40+ for one with different tactile fabrics and noisy bits.

I should say I have this price range because I almost DID pay 20 for a very similar cotton cube, but it was made in a country of which I know nothing of its labor practices.
