Diva Mama Poll #2

We have already decided to get the EMAB candle and seeds to give to Diva Mama, and now we are trying to reach a decision as to what else to do with our remaining "love" for her.

The most popular suggestions from the other thread were:

*GC for a day spa
*donation to a charity
and
*offer "help" with unexpected financial stress.

Please vote and share your thoughts (without violating the UA! ). And please do so in a timely manner, as we want to try to wrap this up by the end of the month!

I still like the idea of letting her decide for herself how to use the extra 'love'- and sending along a note/letter letting her know how much we care and want to help- and though we know it is a small gesture and not very personal- we'd like her to be able to choose for herself what to do with it. I am OK with whatever we decide, though!

I vote that the extra love, however impersonal, be given to her. Perhaps she would choose to give some of that extra love to her partner or child(??)

My vote is for help with financial stress.

My only concern is that what if she isn't even in financial need? I don't know if it's inappropriate or insulting to presume that someone needs financial help. maybe we should include a note that says she can use it any way she likes - to cover expenses, do something nice for herself or her family or make a donation. That way it isn't too awkward.

good call. i was also thinking it can be given in the form of a visa gift card; what do y'all think? a check or MO can seem so impersonal.

ETA, after rdg the other board, i do see the merits of sending an MO.

That was my concern with just sending her the money. This is a very good idea.

anyone else want to weigh in? So far, the results are overwhelmingly in favor of option C! based on this, I'm gonna suggest that bluesymama can feel comfortable going forward with that plan.
