"Dropped" yet? What about non-first-timers?

So, since this is baby #2, I wasn't really expecting to drop. I'm 36.5 weeks, and have read that with babies after #1, you usually either don't drop until labor, or until you are within just a few days or a week, at most.

Well, I woke up this morning, and have definitely dropped some. And am suddenly feeling more pelvic pressure. On the bright side, I had much less reflux last night than usual. But I'm not even technically term yet (will hit 37 on Wed), and am NOT quite ready for baby.

For second time and beyond moms, do you tend to drop at all? If so, how close is it to labor? Is it too much to hope that I might still have a good 2-3 weeks left?

I am a second time mom and I dropped about 2 weeks ago, a little before 36 weeks. I'm still hanging in there at 38 weeks and 1 day Although it was a little uncomfortable at first I'm enjoying having the baby out of my ribs and reclaiming my stomach and lungs. The increased nighttime trips to the potty haven't been a joy but at least I can go back to sleep relatively easily compared to waking with killer heartburn! My measurements went from 32 cm to 30 cm and now they are dropping even more. Any lower and she's going to fall out of me!!

6th pregnancy for me and I dropped a good month 1/2 ago. Last pregnancy I didn't drop until labor.

3rd pregnancy in three years. My first didn't drop until about 39 weeks. My second and this pregnancy, baby dropped a good two or three months ago. I think mine has more to do with a complete lack of abdominal muscle tone (pregnancies in quick succession will do that to a person!)

I'm a third time mommy and I don't think I have dropped yet. I'm at week 38.

I don't recall dropping with either of my previous pregnancies either though.

I'm officially a "grand multipara" now, or else I would be if I ever had another kid, and was totally shocked when #4 dropped a week ago. I don't remember #2 or #3 doing so at all. I don't think it was abdominal tome, since the first three were in rapid succession (from '88 to '92) and there was a 16 year gap between #3 and #4. Not to brag or anything, but I could wear ds1's clothes when he was 13 and my belly pic at 8 weeks or so was mistaken for a 20-something year old's belly.

Anyway, ds2 dropped on a Sunday and was born the following Friday.

3rd baby here, dropped at 37 weeks. The other two dropped about the same time if I recall. It feels so much better not to have monster heartburn anymore, but the pelvic pressure and peeing on myself is the toss up.

35w4d here, and people have been telling me I look like I've dropped.

Eh, well, I never had really BAD heartburn for more than a few days and I haven't had any for a few weeks. I've noticed I'm having to pee more during the day, though still not at night unless I forget to go before bedtime. But I don't have any pelvic pressure feelings.

So my guess is I have NOT "dropped" yet.

I am 37 weeks, and I still haven't dropped. I dropped around this same time when I was preggers w/ DS. I probably won't this time around (I didn't think that anyone did after already having a baby before).

I'm 37w5d, and my MW says I have definitely dropped and baby is engaged. I wouldn't have known it, except that I do kinda feel like I have a bowling ball between my legs...

Didnt' drop with dd#1, dropped a month and a half before dd #2 was born ( I think this was so that she could get fatter!) and dropped last week with ds. I'm at 38.5 weeks. So much better that he's dropped rather than perching on my pubic bone and causing me absolute agony. Hate the constant peeing, but I enjoy being able to move without pain. Even trade, I suppose.

At precisely 6 am on the 18th my baby dropped about an inch, maybe more (hard to tell, but some!). I was having bad BH contractions all night and finally sat up and propped myself up with pillows. I felt a lot of pelvic pressure and suddenly could breathe a little more. I don't have the bowling ball between my legs but my heartburn isn't as bad and I have a little more lung room. Oh, I'm 35 weeks, with first kid!

I dropped nearly 2 wks ago (36 wks), I noticed only because I started having sciatica and hadn't had it at all before! Oh, and the lovely bowel pressure. All I can say is that at 38 wks, I don't feel like I'm going to go anytime soon. With ds I dropped right around 36 wks too and he was born the morning after my due date.

4th baby, 35 weeks, haven't dropped yet, but I don't remember dropping with any of the others until I went into labor. But I'll keep you all posted.

I'm 37 weeks. Mine dropped last night- I've got lots of pelvic pressure and the inside of my thighs ache. Better that than heartburn, though! This is my second. I don't actually recall ever dropping with my first, who was a scheduled c-section for breech on her "due date."
