Pelvic pain?

I have a personal question. I'm calling my midwife tomorrow, but any suggestions are welcome...

I had my period last week, strangely enough after only a 26 day cycle (pre-baby days my cycles were always longish, at least 32 days, and now that I am still nursing, they're usually 37-40ish).

My period has been done for about 3 days, and yesterday and today I have been having cramps. Menstrual-like cramps, but almost worse, and pain in my lower back (which is also where I get menstrual pain). My whole lower abdomen just feels heavy and achy and I feel bloated. No fever, but I feel kind of sick...although mainly because I'm in pain, I think. I took a pregnancy test just to rule out a recent miscarriage or something, negative. About 6 weeks ago I had my annual, m/w said my cervix looked disturbed by something inconclusive but likely bacterial, so I treated it with tea tree and goldenseal.

Because of that I'm sort of concerned that it's some sort of pelvic infection...is that possible?? What else could be causing this? Just wacky hormones????

Since your cycles are longer, is it possible that this past period was implatation bleeding? If so, it would still be too early for a positive pregnancy test but you could be feeling the S/Sx of early pregnancy.

I would definately want to rule out PID though, so it's good you are going to see your midwife.

Do let us know what you find out...what you describe does sound like infection to me (and more so after hearing of cervix 'disturbance') but of course could also sound like early pregnancy.
