Whaaaaaaaaaaaat? But...but...does anyone have a copy of the 101 Reasons to Breastfeed?

It does appear to be gone. A quick google search has the 101 reasons listed in several places.

i wanted to go to the part of the site where you can report doctors and other medical professionals that give bad and wrong breastfeeding advice-is there any alternative site to do this?

No, but I'm not surprised.... it seemed like they were on the way out. The 3MA was hardly ever updated, no one answered emails, etc...

I didn't even realize ProMom had that feature! (I'd looked at it briefly; it's been a while though.) Now I wish I could peruse it.

If the site is going away completely I wish they'd keep up archives from their past postings. There was a lot of good info there.

No they are not gone.

I spoke with Carrie Patterson the Executive Director of ProMoM.Org and they’re just having some technical difficulties with the website and will be back up soon.

She said Please don’t drop ProMom’s link from your sites.

And she thanks everyone for being so concerned and supportive.

Thank you all for your concern.

No we aren't gone but we have had some major issues over the last week which resulted in the site being taken down completely.

As of right this minute I have some of the basics back up (main pages, 101 reasons, etc). As of right now we do not have the forums up or the gallery and the email addresses are not active.

I was so happy to hear that you guys were worried about us and I wanted to let everyone know that we aren't going anywhere anytime soon. I have personally renewed the domain name for 2 more years.

And to clear up a few things --

1. We did have a NNO last year. There weren't nearly as many participants and we are considering dropping it because nobody seems interested in participating anymore. So if you want to be a part of the NNO this year, help us out and plan one! Let us know, send us feedback. If not, it may be gone so that we can focus our attention on things that the breastfeeding community feels is more important.

2. The 3MA's are not being udpated as much because we only have one person to write the letters right now. Please feel free to volunteer to become a member of the Three Minute Activist volunteer group. We always need help.

Please remember that Promom is staffed and run only by volunteers. And at the moment there are only two of us that are completely active in the site at all. We try to answer every single email, and if you email me personally (carrie@promom.org) I will answer that email no matter what, and we are doing the best we can because we believe that the site is still informative and important. Keeping in mind that until the site is back up completely I can't be reached at that email address. In the meantime, you can email me personally at xavi7734 at gmail dot com.

Again, thank you all for the encouragement, well wishes and worrying. I'm hoping that we will be back up and running full swing very soon.

Sincerely,
Carrie Patterson
Executive Director
