When I painted and when I start painting again, I really enjoy and prefer to paint with gouache and india ink. I love the lines and brightness of gouache- oh and the working consistency of it, which takes some practice to achieve and is the reason I am the only person I've heard of irl who actually enjoys it. In school, being forced to use it was torture for everyone except me- it appeals to my exacting nature (some say anal, but whatever- it's
my work

).
I enjoy the flow and versatility of india ink. If I want to let loose and get messy, I use india ink and I use all sorts of implements for applying it to the ground. When I don't, I use my beeeeaaautiful diamond tip technical pens- oooo, they are so gorgeous; they just glide over the surface- so smooth

Of course, because these are my preferred media, I am quite limited with grounds. I like working on archival cotton papers/boards, but everything I paint has to be framed for display and also has to be protected immediately, which is easily accomplished with tracing paper, but it's hard to find ways to store the boards to keep them from warping without taking up loads of space.
Anyway, that's my stuff
