Is homemade sour dough Gluten free?

Made with wheat flour?

My father makes it and I'm interested in eating some Ive found some info but not much

Anything w/ wheat is NOT gluten free. On a gluten free diet wheat, spelt, rye, barley, oats, and I'm sure there's more, are all off limits.

I understand that but the culturing of the sour dough is supposed to breakdown the gluten that Ive read it on the celiacs.com site...just wonder if anyone has more info.

I found that. I'm not sure you could find a recipe for it, but you might be able to create something. Depending on your (general your) reactions to gluten, I wouldn't want to risk it though.
